That would be wise. Fwiw, panic attacks as a general rule do not wake
people up from sleep so those who would have you believe that this is
entirely in your head are wrong.

You probably have GERD. GERD is usually more severe when lying down.
The acid from stomach refluxes up from stomach into esohpagus. Raising
head of bed helps lots. Not just proping up the head with pillow. This
makes it worse, GERD is caused by weakened LES, the lower esophagus
spinchter muscle.
