Why are all the posts here either about religion or about Dr. Chung?

Isn't anyone interested in science, medicine, cardiology?

"Dr." Chung is a very sick person who continues to pollute this newsgroup.
It's a shame others respond to his posts (although ignoring him won't get
him to stop either...). I killfiled him a long time ago.

Between him and the anti-statin folks, this newsgroup has become something
of a joke. Every now and then some real information is exchanged but those
moments are far and few between.

Sorry my being openly Christian continues to bother you, neighbor.

You will remain in my prayers, dear Frank, whom I love, in Christ's
name.

May you accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior, someday, so that
you too will have eternal life and the fascinating riches of His
everlasting kingdom.

Here's how:

http://makeashorterlink.com/?I22222129

Please note that God truly made this special link describing that He is
the great "I am" and that His message is as simple as the number 2 which
is a number between 1 to 9 and reminds us of His 2 commandments,  the 2
arms of the cross, the 2nd part of the Trinity, the 2 finger sign of the
Prince of Peace [who remains *V*ictorious over death and satan], and the
2PD Approach.  Let it not ever be written that Christ did not make His
presence known here on Usenet :-)

Also, note that Exodus 16:16 continues to remind us that 16 oz plus 16
oz makes 2 pounds, which is "a certain measure of weight," which is what
"omer" literally means in Hebrew.

Oh, dear and I just posted about my reluctance on statins. I hope you
don't take that the wrong way. My stance is that statins be used
sparingly when lifestyle modification doesn't work. I happen to think
that lifestyle can always work, just that not everyone is able.

For people in generally good health that makes a lot of sense.

I can tell when things get crazy here because my newsreader shows
that there are say, 73 new posts, but only 5 show up after my
filters go to work. When the craziness tapers off, comparable
numbers might be 21 new posts with 14 getting through.

When things get crazy, mostly I just see a drop-off in posts.
That's evidence that the repetitive posting campaigns that fire up
really do drive away real contributors and participants.

If more people used filters, the group that really wants to
discuss science-medicine-cardiology could do so pretty well
despite the chaos that a newbie sees.

(PS: I don't put the anti-statin folks in the same category as the
religious fruitcakes and their persistent detractors. The former
group has a perfectly legitimate reason to be here.)

I thought the "med" in sci.med.cardiology meant "medical", not medicine.

Wouldn't sci.medicine and talk.politics.medicine be a more appropriate
forum for those who clearly have an agenda for or against the use of
certain medications?

I don't think "having an agenda" should disqualify anyone from
posting here, so long as the post is on topic. Some of the anti-
(and pro-) statin posts contain nothing but political or social
views, but many are well-articulated and based in science and the
data.

It's not your faith that is annoying. It is your form letter type of
response. Your approach to spreading your faith, besides being off
topic in this news group, is very impersonal - It is offensive when
you reply to everyone with the same terse comments.

I would suggest you try using your knowledge of science to guide,
befriend and help people. It would be better than using your blinding
sword of faith to chase people away. Don't you think?

The sad thing is that a coule of years ago this was a great group - Dr
Chung was a very helpful guy then, answering q about heart problems and
not pushing religion.  I was a great admirer of him then, and feel sad
that he seems to be drifting into a state where his beliefs take
precedence over cardiology,  I see that he is still a nice guy, but
maybe it is time he moved to a group where his main interest now lies.

Yes and No. I've been reading this group for a few years and in my opinion
Dr. Chung has always provided honest answers to questions. Sometime the
answers are short and lacking information but it did answer the question at
hand without going into detail about other topics.

My best guess is that about 18 months or so ago these other wackjobs started
showing up on this group, posting repeated articles about statins or other
topics and answering peoples question about heart related matters. Some may
have some knowledge but noone else but Dr. Chung has provided any
credentials. Anytime Dr. Chung would disagree with a wacko, they would
attack with articles and spouting of crap. At first the response from Dr.
Chung was to argue back but the world is full of wackos and the time
consumed arguing was too much. Then the religion started popping into
answers from Dr. Chung, first just little blurbs or a 'god bless' , the
wackos were furious and Dr. Chung continued and expanded upon the religous
comments as a self defense mechanism.  There are even people here that have
gone as far as to call his office and try and debate about his opinion
causing Dr. Chung to protect himself more and to push his religous beliefs
more and more as a response to the wackos instead of arguing constantly. I
believe that this this new persona has evolved in response to repeated
attacks. Like David said this group used to be a great source of information
and it still is sometimes but there the people who post worthless crap and
wothless opinions are the people who've ruined it with the repeated
bullshit.

YOu speak of "Dr'" Chung as if he's a child. Poor "Dr." Chung...if it
weren't for all those baaad people attacking him he wouldn't be the way he
is. That is one of the most absurd defenses of this guy that I have ever
read. (There haven't been many...)

While I do find some of the anti-chungites posts unecessarily repetitive
and silly, the truth of the matter is that Dr. Chung is a mentally
unbalanced paranoid-schizophrenic with a severe inferiority complex.

The truth? The truth is that no one contradicted the assessment of
mental disturbance. The other truth is that it's perhaps unkind to
keep prodding you because you're nuts and simply beyond controlling
yourself.

Note that no one has said your rants are reasonable, rational, useful,
sane or otherwise constructive beyond shoring up your deepening
dementia. I'm leaving off with you. You're so far beyond rational
discourse as to make any posts merely typing exercises.

Do get some help. And I mean that with some genuine concern for you
and your family. Even a casual look at your actions recently must make
an eyebrow raise in wonder.

Fyi, your pride makes you too wide for the narrow door, neighbor:

http://makeashorterlink.com/?A2642108A

You will remain in my prayers, dear Bob, whom I love, in Lord Christ's
holy name.

May you reject your pride and accept Him as your personal Lord and
Savior, someday, so that you too will have eternal life and the
fascinating riches of His everlasting kingdom.

Here's how:

http://makeashorterlink.com/?I22222129

What Counselor Frank (Listener) intends for evil, God has turned for
good :-)

The readers of this thread really have only two options here.  It
remains my choice to inform folks about the truth which is Christ
Jesus.  Frank (listener) and his ilk have chosen to represent lies which
are satan.  His anonymity and his choice to libel/defame undermine his
master's cause.  If he does not fear God, I suspect satan and his
minions will soon give him reasons to desperately seek God's blessing
and salvation.

You remain in my prayers, dear Jim, whom I love, in Christ's holy name.

Andrew

While mixed in with his flame wars and religious zeal is some medical
information to specific questions, I personally would not trust a
single word he says or value his opinion about anything based on the
way he conducts himself here in this NG.  Why play Russian Roulette
with your health?

And his simplistic mission that most health problems can be improved
or resolved with his dumb diet is pure baloney as far as I am
concerned.

Proper nutritition and ideal body weight are important factors to
overall health, longevity and quality of life (I imagine you would
agree). But, it is more than just body weight: diet, exercise, sleep. A
proper diet has to include proper nutrition, good exercise and plenty
of sleep.

Live happy, enjoy life, take care of yourself.

<LOL> John asks two questions and suddenly it is the "discernment of
truth." I doggedly assert that there is no discernment of truth
without information. The example of Solomon was about being able to
choose between things known, not things outside his knowledge. Wisdom,
not occult information-gathering.

Chung guesses that Listener is named Frank and insists it's correct.
Chung insists that Mt. Everest climbers eat 10 pounds of food a week
and that makes his diet rational - except the climbers say otherwise
and real scientists say otherwise. Chung asserts that potatoes and
bread contain thousands more calories in two pound than they actually
do. Chung insists that runners burn far fewer calories then they
actually do. All of these testable and measurable conditions
demonstrate that Chung's "gift of truth discernment" is merely his
psychotic insistence of his infallibility.

And that's the truth.

Bob
Andrew B. Chung, MD/PhD - 20 Feb 2005 07:38 GMT
The <LOL> continues to betray your despair.

The questions that "John" asks are rhetorical revealing that he has
discerned the truth.

Your equating God's gift of truth discernment with "His psychotic
insistence of His infallibility" reveals that you are unable to discern
the truth.  Those who are able to discern the truth know that this
ability does not make them infallible. Just as being able to see does
not make one a being of light, being able to discern does not make one a
being of truth.

You will remain in my prayers, dear Bob, whom I love, in Lord Christ's

A perfect example of Chung's insanity. Somehow, through some kind of
extra-sensory channel, Chung received information. No intermediary
faculties involved. It just appeared in his mind. And it's absolutely
correct, feels like a real experience and deposits a solid memory even
though there's nothing tangible or measurable about it. Sounds like
the classic definition of a hallucination. Voices in the head.
Imagination run amok.

Particularly interesting since no reliable scientist would endorse its
reality. Even the bible that Chung claims supports this "gift" in
fact, says nothing to support it. Even the support that Chung thinks
he's getting is merely more of the same imaginings. Invisible wisps in
support of inaudible wisps supporting ghosts of other wisps.

It seems you are avoiding the use of <LOL>s but your language still

Truly, the door guarded by Lord Christ Jesus is a very narrow one:

http://makeashorterlink.com/?A2642108A

The Messiah teaches from Matthew 5:

11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely
say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad,
because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they
persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Ahh...I was so young and innocent back then...(!)

You are correct. Back then Dr. Chung was not obsessed with hitting everyone
over the head with his religious notions and he frequently dispensed what I
considered good medical advice (no substitute, mind you, to seeing a real
live doctor). I cannot explain what happened to him but he apparently went
off the deep end. Sad. (He did spawn a new disease: OCD, Obsessive Chung
Disorder). And then there were others who are more interested in shoving
their own agenda and theories down your throat rather than an open, frank,
give and take discussion of the issues.

But, look, welcome to the world of unmoderated newsgoups where anyone and
everyone can have their say, over and over and over again. Thank goodness
for killfiles. I guess it's the nature of the beast. The drivel you mention
would not be tolerated for a minute in moderated sites (where I spend more
time these days than here). As my own health issues have become more acute
in the last few years I prefer to spend time in caring, supportive settings
rather than trying to explain to Dr. Chung why his being a Christian
*doesn't* bother me. (His psychosis does).

I guess my expectations were never really that high to begin with. This
group is what it is. C'est la vie.

Without Christ, there is only fear.  The Lord knows who you are, Frank.
You can not hide from Him.

Are you ashamed of who you are?

I suspect Frank is fearful, just as "George" and Bob Pastorio are
fearful.

Such is life without Lord Christ Jesus.

Of course not! What an absurd accusation. You don't read very well, do you?

zee, who once (falsely) accused me of stalking *her* likes to play
detective and I'm sure she wouldn't hesitate to slander me in other groups
I go to.

I'd rather not take that chance.

In truth, Zee has not slandered you, Frank.

No one has ever been slandered on Usenet, which is a written medium
where no one speaks.

Truth is simple.  You would have know this had you been able to discern
the truth.

The way to God is straight and extremely narrow:

You will remain in my prayers, dear Frank, whom I love, in Christ's holy
name.

May you reject your pride and accept Him as your personal Lord and
Savior, someday, so that you too will have eternal life and the
fascinating riches of His everlasting kingdom.

Here's how:

http://makeashorterlink.com/?I22222129

It seems that you believe that an openly Christian person is by
definition (your own) "psychotic."

Thankfully, Lord Christ teaches from Matthew 5:

11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely
say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad,
because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they
persecuted the prophets who were before you.

You will remain in my prayers, dear Frank, whom I love, in Lord Christ's
holy name.

Ouch.  You may have at the other cheek, neighbor.  Sorry my being openly
Christian continues to bother you, Counselor Frank, so much that you
would put your reputation as a clinical psychologist on the line with
purposefully false Usenet diagnoses with the intent to libel/defame.

It would not take much to have the APA contact the counseling licensure
board of your state with a request for an investigation.  Others have
taken your path and now rue their choice (ie SMN).

Lord Christ teaches from Matthew 5:

11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely
say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad,
because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they
persecuted the prophets who were before you.

May God add His blessings to the writing of His Word here on Usenet, in
Christ's holy name.

Amen.

Though you intended it for evil, God's plan is that your making false
on-line diagnoses with the intent to libel/defame will result in good
things.

The readers of this thread really have only two options here.  It
remains my choice to inform folks about the truth which is Christ
Jesus.  You and your ilk have chosen to represent lies which are satan.
Your anonymity and your choice to libel/defame undermine your master's
cause.  If you do not fear God, I suspect satan and his minions will
soon give you reasons to pray for God's forgiveness and salvation.

You will remain in my prayers, dear Frank, whom I love, in Lord Christ's
holy name.

May you reject your pride and accept Him as your personal Lord and
Savior, before it is too late, so that you too will have eternal life
and the unimaginable peace of His everlasting kingdom.
