chanda - 15 Feb 2005 13:38 GMT hi friends,im an Indian male,46 years old, diagnosed with hocm 12 yrs ago.my common symptoms are low endurance tolerance, fatigue, angina and breathlessness(esp while sleeping at night).echo shows LVOT grad = 60mm ,LVEF = 60%, IVS=24mm ,SAM+,ASH,mild MR and good LV function.i was on a low dosage of calcium channel blockers all along but since the last 18 months,my cardiologist gradually increased the dosage to 360mg of diltiazem a day (divided doses)and i began feeling better almost immediately.however the symptoms remained to a lesser extent.three weeks ago a new cardiologist changed my medication to norpace 100mg(thrice daily) and selokenXL 25mg one OD(beta blocker)and to my amazement my symptoms have reduced significantly with no episode of orthopnia/apnoea during the new regime.can anyone with hocm share a similar experience?

The key in your treatment is to slow down and control your heart rate.

> who serves a one line reply > as if it were gospel? In truth, the gospels are more than one line.
You will be in my prayers, dear Chanda, whom I love, in Lord Christ's holy name.
May you reject your pride and accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior, someday, so that you too will have eternal life and the fascinating riches of His everlasting kingdom.
Here's how:

Please note that God truly made this special link describing that He is the great "I am" and that His message is as simple as the number 2 which is a number between 1 to 9 and reminds us of His 2 commandments, the 2 arms of the cross, the 2nd part of the Trinity, the 2 finger sign of the Prince of Peace [who remains *V*ictorious over death and satan], and the 2PD Approach. Let it not ever be written that Christ did not make His presence known here on Usenet :-)
Also, note that Exodus 16:16 continues to remind us that 16 oz plus 16 oz makes 2 pounds, which is "a certain measure of weight," which is what "omer" literally means in Hebrew.

elgoog - 26 Feb 2005 20:07 GMT If you don't find anyone here with similar HOCM experiences, you might try alt . support-heart or you might try - "The Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association is a not for profit 501(c) (3) organization formed in 1996 to provide information, support and advocacy to patients, their families and medical providers." http://www.4hcm.org
I hope you stick around here too though. Despite the ng troll, whom you've already met, it's not too bad of a spot to pick up information.
Andrew B. Chung, MD/PhD - 27 Feb 2005 01:38 GMT Ouch. You may have at the other cheek.
Lord Christ teaches from Matthew 5:
11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
You will remain in my prayers, dear neighbor, whom I love, in Lord Christ's holy name.
May you reject your pride and accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior, someday, so that you too will have eternal life and the fascinating riches of His everlasting kingdom.
