Hello,

I am anxious to my possibility of Left Ventricular Hypertrophy. If you
can give me some advice, it would be really appreciated.

I am male and 31 years old. Last week I went to my doctor's office to
do routine physical exam. ECG said that I have the possibility of LVH.
Doctor made an another appointment today to use echocardiography do
further verification. The result will come out two weeks later. But,
from his first judgement, he said that echo has the indicator of LVH
caused by valvular problem. He will give me his decision after final
report comes out.

My heart beat, blood pressure, boold test and urine test are all
normal. My parent don't have heart disease. I am in low mood today. If
possible, please answer my following questions:

1. In my condition, how much is the possibility of LVH caused by
valvular disease?
2. Is valvular disease recoverable or controlable?
3. Is it a fatal problem?
4. Statistically, how long can patients live?
5. What should I be careful everyday? What kind of excise and food are
benifit to control this kind of disease?
Thanks for your any input.

One more question, I am in Long Island, NY. Could somebody recommend a
good cardiology specialist round me?

Depends on the severity and type of valvular lesion(s).

> 2. Is valvular disease recoverable or controlable?

Depends on the severity and type of valvular lesion(s).

> 3. Is it a fatal problem?

LVH by itself is not a lethal condition.

> 4. Statistically, how long can patients live?

Without systolic dysfunction, a normal lifespan.

Depends on what causes the valvular lesion(s).

Today, I got my echocardiography report. My doctor said that I have
slight left ventricular hypertrophy and mild mitral valve
regurgitation. He also told me don't worry too much about it and don't
have to take any medicine. I copy the report data here and hope someone
can give me a further analysis for me. Thanks for any information.
