Hi All
Does anyone else agree with me that there is very little (or no) mental
support after suffering a heart attack or undergoing by pass surgery.
We get plenty of physical support, but there seems to be no special
attention or effort directed toward this very important part of recovery.
Comments, experiences, anyone.

I agree. I think it takes positive action on the part of the patient for
something to happen, and with mental issues people sometimes have difficulty
stepping up to that. The only thing specific to this topic that I've seen are
"Heart Clubs" which are run by hospitals and have people come in to give talks
on various things and may address this issue.

I totally agree - there is nothing at all in the UK other than a visit to
the Physio and an excercise sheet to follow - then off you go, on your own.
If you even hint at mental problems they run a mile shouting "not my
department".....
