Shearwater - 04 Apr 2008 22:27 GMT Posting totals for a certain cardiologist:
2007 2008 Aug 144 Sept 214 Oct 45 Nov 447 Dec 122 Jan 325 Feb 635 Mar 632 Apr 68
Totals 972 + 1660 = 2632 ---------------------------------------------------
At first I thought the sheer numbers were an indicator of his lunacy but then, well, I looked at the numbers of his primary responder, J666, and was astounded:
2007 2008 Aug Sept Oct Nov 425 Dec 1751 Jan 1331 Feb 2848 Mar 3026 Apr 566
Totals 2176 + 7771 = 9947 ---------------------------------------------------
Well then, what of his other responder, J A?
2007 2008 Aug Sept 2 Oct Nov 191 Dec 506 Jan 384 Feb 931 Mar 845 Apr 163
Totals 699 + 2323 = 3022 ---------------------------------------------------
Between these three posters there were a combined 15,601 posts since August of 2007. And J666 has to have established some kind of record for an average of just over 97 posts a day for the entire month of March
While a certain cardiologist has, without question, established his credentials as a potential resident of Miss Nelly's Home for the Terminally Nervous, he surely cannot be taken to task for the his time spent posting here when both his primary foils each post more than he does, in J666's case more than 3.7 times the number of the cardiologist's posts.
While both J666 and J A might have something worthwhile to add to the discussion of things cardiovascular in nature it's difficult to tell since the huge bulk of their posts are simply responses to the nonsense posted by that cardiologist.
Let's see if I can make this killfile thing work for me.

I'm not even gonna try to figure out those numbers but that might explain why J666's totals are so much higher than the LC. At any rate, while I'm attempting to filter as many responses to him as I can he's the only one I'm killfiling by name.
He's slipped through once already since I posted the numbers. Obviously the killfile isn't 100% perfect. But things are looking better already.

His other accounts have equally high totals. Yes, Chung does have multiple accounts. Just look at his email address: heartdoc##@emorycardiology.com with the ## from single digits up to the high 20's if not even up.
I believe if you post to multiple groups, like 5, with one message, that it is counted as 5 and not 1.
I believe in the past Chung was booted out of Google for excessive posting - Google uses the email addresses and so by having multiple addresses can "fool" google.
Finally, need to look at the length of time - I believe Chung has been doing this for years and not just months.
I know people who enjoy this type of posting and do it as a hobby and know those who have free time for a while, recuperating or between jobs or people working at home at their computer who have no trouble with posting.
The solution to use a news reader and kill-file those posters you do not like or where can easily decide to skip them or read them - there are occasionally some amusing responses. The other thing, is not to read this group because it has very little to do with cardiology. There seems to be a few serious cardiology posts, though cannot rule out a Chung or some other socketpuppet doing that post and of course the occasional post by the "iron guy." There is certainly a lot of pro and con God/Jesus-talk. There is certainly a lot of Chung's repetitious posts and recently a slew of "wanna-be Socratic questions."

No question there's a lot of religious content but I attribute that to his practice of crossposting his delusions to a stunning number of other newsgroups and the responses that draw such posts to this group. Those I can ignore or filter. And while there's precious little content relating to cardiology I'll stick around on the off chance the odd gem arrives and a productive discussion will ensue. One never knows.

That's an interesting experiment, and I had thought of doing much the same myself. However, I have to ask you: when you tried to total up Andrew's posts, did you take care to search on all the unsernames he may have posted under?
For example, taking a quick "grep | sort -u" through the archives from March through December of last year, I find Andrew posting under the following
<achung@emorycardiology.com> <andrew@emorycardiology.com> <andrew@heartmdphd.com> <love10@thetruth.com> <love11@thetruth.com> <love13@thetruth.com> <love1@thetruth.com> <love2@thetruth.com> <love3@thetruth.com> <love4@thetruth.com> <love6@thetruth.com> <love7@thetruth.com> <love8@thetruth.com> <achung@emorycardiology.com> <andrew@emorycardiology.com> <andrew@heartmdphd.com> <andrew@thewellnessfoundation.com> <love10@heartmdphd.com> <love10@thetruth.com> <love11@heartmdphd.com> <love11@thetruth.com> <love12@heartmdphd.com> <love12@thetruth.com> <love13@thetruth.com> <love1@heartmdphd.com> <love1@thetruth.com> <love2@heartmdphd.com> <love2@thetruth.com> <love3@thetruth.com> <love4@thetruth.com> <love5@heartmdphd.com> <love5@thetruth.com> <love6@thetruth.com> <love7@heartmdphd.com> <love7@thetruth.com> <love8@heartmdphd.com> <love8@thetruth.com> <love9@heartmdphd.com> <love9@thetruth.com> <nospam10@heartmdphd.com> <nospam11@heartmdphd.com> <nospam12@heartmdphd.com> <nospam13@heartmdphd.com> <nospam14@heartmdphd.com> <nospam2@heartmdphd.com> <nospam3@heartmdphd.com> <nospam4@emorycardiology.com> <nospam4@heartmdphd.com> <nospam5@heartmdphd.com> <nospam6@heartmdphd.com> <nospam7@heartmdphd.com> <nospam8@heartmdphd.com> <nospam9@heartmdphd.com> 53 addys (some of which have since been yanked).
So if you're just looking at a user profile under one addy, you may well see a single tree but not the forest.

It's like exploring a huge wound. The exterior looks relatively small but when you start poking around the edges under the skin then the true size is revealed.

Some have wondered about Chung mainly being a troll - even if that were the case, when you look at the number of email addresses, web sites and web pages, and posts involved, it is certainly pathological.

Just did another newsgroup search for author's first and last name and the return was "about 15,400." Clearly some percentage of that total is duplication related to his profligate crossposting. And while I didn't look at every one of them (obviously), random sampling of the dates revealed that everyone of the posts I did see were authored by our very own LC. When does he sleep? Hmmm.... gotta wonder, could he be bipolar with mania only? What a sad waste of education.

Google groups, but if you've followed this thread you'll realize those numbers are wildly understated, especially for the LC.
