Hunger is wonderful:

It's how we know what GOD wants, which is what is good.

Yes, hunger is our knowledge of good versus evil that Adam and Eve
paid for with their and our immortal lives.

Those who suffer from the powerful delusion predicted by the prophecy

ABC News SIMON MCGREGOR-WOOD
JERUSALEM, March 5, 2008

Moses and the Israelites were on drugs, says Benny Shanon, an Israeli
professor of cognitive philosophy.

Writing in the British Journal Time and Mind, he claims Moses was
probably on psychedelic drugs when he received the Ten Commandments
from God.

The assertions give a whole new meaning to Moses being "high" on
Mount
Sinai.

According to Shanon, a professor at Hebrew University, two naturally
existing plants in the Sinai Peninsula have the same psychoactive
components as ones found in the Amazon jungle and are well-known for
their mind-altering capabilities. The drugs are usually combined in a
drink called ayahuasca.

"As far as Moses on Mount Sinai is concerned, it was either a
supernatural cosmic event, which I don't believe, or a legend, which
I
don't believe either, or finally, and this is very probable, an event
that joined Moses and the people of Israel under the effects of
narcotics," he told Israel Radio in an interview Tuesday.
The description in The Book of Exodus of thunder, lightening and a
blaring trumpet, according to Shanon, are the classic imaginings of
people under the influence of drugs.

As for the vision of the burning bush, well obviously that too was a
drug-fueled hallucination, according to Shanon.

"In advanced forms of ayahuasca inebriation," he wrote, "the seeing
of
light is accompanied by profound religious and spiritual feelings."
Shanon admits he took some of these drugs while in the Amazon in
1991.
"I experienced visions that had spiritual-religious connotations," he
said.

The initial reaction to this controversial theory from Israel's
religiously orthodox community and the powerful rabbis who lead it
was
less than enthusiastic.

Orthodox rabbi Yuval Sherlow, quoted by Reuters speaking on Israel
radio, said: "The Bible is trying to convey a very profound event. We
have to fear not for the fate of the biblical Moses, but for the fate
of science."

Science is doing fine. It has produced our advanced society.

It was a "warning" from a deluded supernaturalist, and would seem
"wise" only to a dolt.

Science is too politicized.
It is now mainly supported and manipulated
by the military industrial complex.

If no messiah is coming,
we better create one soon.

More of your nonsense.

Climatologists aren't politicians, and the military industrial complex
hardly likes the global warming warnings.

Climate changes created our species by forcing evolutionary adaptions.

If you want to find a messiah, look for a climatologist.

This lumping together of people based on one of their views is not that
uncommon among those of faith who view their faith as all or none, even when
there are conflicting parts of their Bible.

Can you tell me which ones you believe in and which you don't, and
show the EVIDENCE for the existence of the ones you believe in?

Or, if you're stupid enough to think all god claims need to be
disproved by non-believers instead of PROVED by the believer - then
also give evidence for the non-existence of all the gods you don't
believe in.

That's much better.
So, we don't agree what God is, yet.

My working hypothesis is that
God is the ultimate pint of reference
"for all meaning and existence."
God is necessary to make sense of anything.

What does it mean for such a "being" to exist?
What does it mean to "exist"
for the ultimate point of reference
that provide meaning for everything
including the term 'existence'?
Does that mean God should reveal Himself somehow?

Let's slow down a little,
and answer these first:

What is God in your frame of reference
and what is your frame of reference?

Less than that.  "gods" are merely fictional characters in the stories
of the uncivilized.

Then my experiences give any meaning to existence.  Fictional characters
give no such meaning.

It means nothing, fictional stories are just that.

I live here and now and experience the present moment.  Mindfulness.
Fictional characters have no presence in the here and now.

Do you think it's ok to point out nonsense if the person issuing the
nonsense isn't even sure if he knows or can know what it is he's

The military, along with the government, does fund a lot of the research.
Even though some may be for military uses, there are also may good civilian
things that come out of it too.  Often when looking for one thing, find
something not expected or even thought of before.

Better to have research even funded by the military, then no research at all.
