HIS resurrection had a context that was part of its meaning... the fulfillment of Old Testament rituals and types. For the latter-day disciples of LORD Jesus Christ, this past Sunday, which was set aside to commemorate and glorify HIS resurrection, was indeed Resurrection Sunday. The world may certainly refer to this past Sunday as having been Easter. However, we have honored this past Sunday as the remembrance of the first day of our Passover because Jesus the Nazarene is also our Passover Lamb. The non-messianic Jews will indeed celebrate the remembrance of the Jewish Passover next month and we, who are now Jesus' brethren (ie part of HIS family), should be encouraged to celebrate with them because it is a blessed opportunity to share our LORD, Who is the ultimate Passover Lamb, with Jewish non-believers. Know that we are justified not by works such as the observance of holidays but by faith in LORD Jesus Christ and HIS resurrection, which blots out all the sins of HIS brethren.
