<quote>Roy Smith. He had ALS and some charlatans stole his money with fake
"cures".<quote>

Sandra Schmirler (Gold medal, Nagano Winter Olympics). She had cancer
and a quack took thousands of dollars from her to tell her to stop
having treatment. She died a couple of weeks after telling a press
conference how she had just bathed her seven-month-old daughter for
the first time.

Barry Sheen (World 500cc Motorcycle Champion, 1976-77). He was told
that fruit juice and positive thinking would cure his cancer. They
didn't.

Annette Pypops (Canadian academic). Doctors told her she might live
for two years without treatment for her cancer. A quack took her money
and she lived for 20 months. The quack was still using testimonials
from her on his web site two years after he killed her. <quote>

(Peter Moran discusses Neil and exchanges he had with him )
<quote from the post>Neil was a strong believer in conspiracies of various
types, including the one about the suppression of effective cancer
cures.   He embarked on his program of self-cure with great confidence.

Note from me :
Neil Jensen died because he went altie, for an apparently operable rectal
cancer
He was only a few years younger than my Dad when Dad got colon cancer and
was cured by surgery. - J

JENSEN -- Neil A. Jensen. Our dear father and irreplaceable friend passed
away at 6:20 a.m. on the morning of March 20, 2004. He was born in Ogden,
Utah, on November 20, 1941 to Mary Ann and Arvis Jensen. He is survived by
three children, Collin Jensen, Doug Blue and Debbie Jensen. Neil was a
formidable mechanic and later turned his skills to the repair of
computers. He was active in the local Mac Users Group. He was an
enthusiastic and energetic guitar player. He maintained the alternative
health, sciences and spirituality web site Sumeria.com for eight years. He
wrestled with the ills of modern society and had a quick wit and scathing
sense of humor towards hypocrisy and bureaucracy We mourn the loss of his
presence among us and send our love and energy to him in the spirit world.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 27, 3:00 p.m. at Riverside
Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE, just south of Copper. Call 764-9663 for
more information.

They are also mentioning Roy Smith who had ALS and apparently had his
fillings removed (theory: mercury poisoning)
His situation and others (mostly kids) are explained here.

600,000 of how many millions treated?

> and 780,000 are killed by orthodox med every year

While none of these stats mean much without a lot of explanation I think it
is also significant that the sales of alternative meds and supplements are
growing exponentially without (as far as I am aware) a corresponding
increase in longevity among the group that buy them. Are there any stats
available on that?

In the entire history of man, no one has ever been brainwashed and
realized, or believed, that he had been brainwashed. Those who have been
brainwashed will usually passionately defend their manipulators
