Hello, all,
I'm new, here, and certain that this sort of question has come up
before, but bear with me. My brother-in-law's money has run out, but
the programs that we hope will finance the co-pays for his Temodar
therapy for brain cancer have not yet kicked in. At this point, we
don't know if he will be accepted into the assistance programs at all!
So, I've been seeking out a less expensive source of Temodar, his
major chemo med. The US online pharmacies charge at least $1800 for a
5-tab bottle of Temodar 250 mg. In April, my BIL will need two of
these bottles. Medicare covers 80%, but he hasn't got enough money for
the 20% co-pay. Any advice? Anyone know where I can get this med for
less? Is the overseas/Canada route still a viable one? How does that
work anyway? The manufacturer says that they will not assist with
paying for this med, either.
God bless you all and thanks in advance for any help and/or advice.
Sincerely,
Sparky

Hello Sparky, Unless someone more knowledgeable replies, the only way I
know of finding online pharmacies is
Google (or any interenet search engine) search
http://groups.google.com/advanced_search and typing in the words Canada
and pharmacy AND in the either/or box temodar temodal
I did that and saw some for 1649.95 and 1700.00 BUT I don't know anything
about co-pays or how the pharmacies handle it or which pharmacies are
reliable (for product or delivery) or what form of payment or paperwork
they need.
I'm posting the following in case others are interested

Best wishes,

Have you tried applying at Schering's commitment to caring site? They have
an 800 number.

What is a real shame is that in the richest country in the world's history,
in so many situations if a person becomes gravely ill, their only
alternative for getting adequate health care is to spend through all your
family's assets as quickly as possible and then throw yourself and your
family on the supposed benevolence of a multinational drug company.
We need universal health care now - not Star Wars or Mars missions.
