What drivel! In any case, the following was released by the NHMRC on 5th
August. This may help explain why it is taking so long to release any
information. From this, it would appear that they are trying to perform a
cohort study,
comparing his patient outcomes with that of similar patients. This would
take a very long time. Final report should be out next month.

NHMRC review of microwave cancer therapy
The final report of the therapeutic effectiveness and safety of microwave
cancer therapy, as practised by Dr John Holt in Western Australia , is
expected to be considered by the National Health and Medical Research
Council (NHMRC) at its September 2005 session.
Following approval by the Council, the final report will be provided
immediately to the Minister for Health and Ageing, Tony Abbott.
The NHMRC's Review Committee completed a comprehensive assessment of the
published scientific evidence and public submissions, and provided an
interim report to the Minister in April 2005.
The Review Committee is now finalising the assessment of the clinical
records of Dr Holt's past and present treatment practices. This assessment
includes a detailed comparison of the outcomes of microwave therapy measured
against conventional cancer therapies.
The examination of clinical records has been a complex exercise that has
taken longer than expected. The NHMRC believes it has been important that
sufficient time be allowed for the Review Committee to conduct a thorough
and objective scientific appraisal of Dr Holt's treatment.
