Yesterday I kept on having an ichy feeling on my back and after a while I started to scratch it.
I was surprised to find that I could pull on a soft mole and even found some blood on my fingers.
Back at the house I took off my shirt and looked in the mirror to see that three moles on my back were large and black. I gave a phone call to the local heath center and said that I wanted an appointment with *anybody* and that I wanted a biopsy. I live in a small cattletown and the nearest metropolis 25 miles away.
The reason for my post is that I'm asking for a check-list of things I need to ask for/expect while I'm trying to get my concerns addressed. Cancer is a real nasty reality in my family, killing off my aunt at age 49 and my dad at 54. I'm 45 and the youngest of 4. Thanks.
you should have an consultation with the dermatologist that will thoroughly examine moles on your back. There is list of criteria for a mole to become malignant melanoma(ie. skin cancer),and black color of a mole is just one of them.Nevertheless,it is adviseable not to scratch moles, because that is one way of irritating them.Best of luck.
> The local clinic PA saw them > and diagnosed them as "askintag" > and nuked them with liquid nitrogen.
skin tags, frank http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000848.htm Some posters, on other newsgroups, just pinch and pull them off. Since yours were dark, it's good that you had them looked at. Best wishes, J
