If they are outside, how can you tell with a digital test? To make a long story short for about a year I have had a swollen place about an inch and a half inside the anal opeing. I explained it to the doctor, he looked with an anoscope but could not see anything. It flares up sometimes when I have hemroids or a tear and goes back down again. Kind of feels like a bean. It is hard. I have been having recurrent feversl for a year and a half. I am being checked for lymphoma Monday with a Gallium scan. I am so scared! Could this be a swollen lymph node? It feels like the bump is under the rectal skin/mucosa. There is no bleeding and about 6 months before noticing the lump I had a colonoscopy which was normal. Why on earth would someone order a gallium scan? You don't make a diagnosis of lymphoma by doing a gallium scan. > Could this be a swollen lymph node?
