went to the va office, to put a claim in for va benefits, claiming agent
orange cause my prostate cancer. any vietnam  veterans who are going to
put in a  claim for benefits , that agent orange cause your prostate
cancer, need to bring to your local va office, your medical records,
information on your present marriage and even information on your past
marriages. if you can get all the above mentioned together, your claim
will be processed faster. if the va must send for the info, it might
take forever. good luck to all vietnam vets, go for it.  agent oranger
did something to our  organs.

Hey Paul, Yes the va wants all of that but I got all the info they wanted
and it only took 45 days to start getting my money $2366 a month.  I started
getting benefits in may 03 had my RP in jun 03.  Still getting the benefits
and I haven't been examined by the VA yet. Still waiting for the appointment
with the VA Dr.  I understand you/we should get benefits for at least one
year.  good luck

hi paul - i agree with everything you have said but want to add the BIG
sticking point.

a few years back, they were paying if you served in the waters of
vietnam as well as in the area.  now, VA is coming back and stating that
you MUST have served IN COUNTRY, which is really hard to prove for some
of the branches if that branch is normally not known to be on land, such
a ship.  yes, i served in vietnam waters, but they are trying to tell me
i didn't put foot on land that is the reason they are not wanting to pay
me, whereas a person in the army in known to be land based, is only to
have a lot easier time getting compensation.

by the bottom line is that it may be a up hill battle, but it can be
won.  will let everyone know how it turns out as it unfolds and that
last part of the proof that i was there.
