Something has changed in my OE lately.  It works fine for my mail program.
However, in the news program, if I reply to the group, the mail goes through
without any difference.  But, if I just hit *reply* to reply to an
individual about his/her post, I am asked which identity I want to use...
and then I get a message saying that an unknown program is trying to access
the address book and asking if I want to allow this.  I click on *no*...
Then the message comes up with a note at the top saying "This message has
not been sent."  There is *no* send button.
Before, this worked just like my mail program... and I can't figure out what
the problem is or what has happened to change it.  I've gone into the
accounts properties, but I see nothing to change to make any difference at
all.

Any helpful suggestions??

Thanks!
MikeH :)

There is a specific newsgroup for Outlook Express.  It is:

microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress

They may be able to help you.

Posted and emailed.

Thanks, Tonto!!  I just saw this and was going to send him over to that
news group too.  Steve or many of the other MVP's will sort that out.  I
have quite frankly never seen this problem before.......BUT, I would
like to see Mike download AdAware 6, update it and then check to make
sure there is no spyware affecting him.

Spyware, browser hijackers and CoolWebSearch (hijacker too) are
particularly prevalent these days and I have 4 programs on the desktop
to handle them.  Spybot Search & Destroy, AdAware, CWS Shredder, Hijack
This.....and also SpywareBlaster (a nifty non-invasive free proggie that
stops spyware from landing on your computer).  If anyone would like the
links, I will post them.  ALL of the above proggies are FREE.  (Tis my
Scottish frugality, grin)

But if the email part is working, why isn't the n.g. part (musing here).
Must be a corrupt folder in there.  That does happen.....but usually
with the mail.

Oh, and Mike......click on the following link to get the Microsoft news
groups......there are roughly a thousand of them.  I am only on the
WinME ones.

news:\\msnews.microsoft.com

Write me at home if you need any help.......I will watch for your post
on the OE group.

Best....Heather (heatherfig at rogers.com)
