To Whom It May Concern:
Please let me know where can I read information about magnetic therapy
to treat prostate cancer.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Sincerely,
Peter

I've not heard of any such treatment. Perhaps you are confusing it with the
development of magnetic beads to track cancerous cells.

There is considerable use of magnetic resonance imaging in treating
prostate cancer, but it's a diagnostic and treatment guidance tool, not
a therapy in itself. Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

I believe that he has magnetic field therapy in mind. A google search on
"magnetic therapy cancer" yielded some 228,000 hits. One reference of
particular interest was from the American Cancer Society page:
http://tinyurl.com/29nmg
"DESCRIPTION
Magnetic therapy involves the use of magnets of varying sizes and strengths
which are placed on the body in order to relieve pain and treat disease.
OVERVIEW
Although there are anecdotal reports of healing with magnetic therapy, there
is no scientific evidence to support these claims. The FDA considers magnets
harmless and of no use for medical purposes."
Most of the other references seemed to me to be quackery of a particularly
dangerous kind. I looked at a few and they pegged my BS detector.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if these simple minded treatments
were helpful. But alas, "dangerous BS" is the right way to describe
them.
Unfortunately, too many people are willing to give in to wishful thinking
and place their faith in professional liars who make their money by selling
hot air and watching people die.
There is a dreadful shortage of rationality in the world.

It is as useless for cancer as it is for arthritis.
