... I'll be undergoing my RP.   Believe it or not, I'm at work today, but my
mind certainly is not on work!

The day after Christmas, I sent out an e-mail to all my family and friends,
telling them of my 'news' (I'd only told several very close family members of
my cancer).

The responses have been overwhelming, and comforting, for I was unaware of how
many of my friends have had a family member touched by PCa, so I got may 'first
hand reports' of how well everyone else has done, and that there's not reason
for me to be "fine" after my surgery.

Again, a million thanks to my fellow newsgroup members who have provided me
with an enormous amount of information, encouragement, and good wishes in my
treatment.

I'll report back to you all here over the weekend.

Good luck!  Coincidentally, I'm undergoing brachytherapy tomorrow morning.

And best wishes to you too Bob.

I had one HDR brachytherapy in December and will get another next
week.  I got a headache from the anaesthesia, and had a sore bottom
and some bits of blood in the urine for a few days.  But otherwise
felt no long term ill effects.  It was a major procedure, but the actual
damage to the body appeared to be mostly to the cancer and much
less to the rest of me - which is what we're hoping for.

May your doctor make all the right moves, Rus. I had my 19th radiation
treatment (IMRT) today--23 to go. No side effects, really, except lotsa
peeing.  I'm 72 and didn't want to be opened up. Good luck to you.

Curtis-

You were the very first one to respond to my initial post to this newsgroups
(and via e-mail), so I wanted to thank you 'personally' for your good thoughts,
good words, and revelations of your own experience(s).

It is now 4:12 a.m., and I'm beginning to think that being up at this hour (so
far) is the crummiest part of having surgery!).  I live about 30 miles from the
hospital, and have to be there at 6 a.m. for my 8 a.m. surgery.  Plus the fact
that I haven't had any solid food since Monday night,,,, I'm kinda grumpy!

Thanks again, and I'll be in touch once I'm home and settled.

Our prayers and best wishes are with you Rus. Let's hope the early hour and
fasting are the worst things you experience.

Good luck Rus.  Big day tomorrow.  Remember, you will have it a lot easier
than your family.  Prayers going out to you and them.

Great News!  You already are on the road to recovery and by your will, are
fighting the cancer that is struggling to take you.
You are a winner.
