Thanks for your concern Ron.  I go back Thursday for some blood tests, and
had an EKG yesterday (a fund raiser for the hospital).  The same Urologist
that did the seeds is also doing the lithotripsy.  But I will certainly
raise the question when I see him next week.  The overgrown stones are high
in the kidney.  I had the palladium seeds.  (and they show up quite nicely
on the x-rays).  I've had stones since my Army days.  Back in 1964 I had a 2
week stay in the Army hospital.  Since I hadn't passed any stones in the two
weeks, they went up with a catheter.  44 years later, I still remember that
event.  The Army tried to extend my tour of duty by 2 weeks, but the 1st Sgt
got me out of it, as I had to report to a civilian Government job right
after discharge.  Stones have really been an annoyance.  I also have them in
my left kidney along with gall stones, which my (hernia) surgeon is anxious
to remove.  Slice and dice, and it's no wonder I look as if I am several
months pregnant.

People often say that the radionucleides are "spent" after 10 half-
lives.  That would suggest that I-125 seeds might still be doing

You're at 18 months post-brachy, or roughly 540 days out.  If you had
I-125 seeds, they still might have a little bit of work left to do.

Does the doc whose treating your kidney stones know that you underwent
brachytherapy?  I'm wondering if the lithotripsy shock wave can either
alter the position of a seed (this would only matter in the case of
iodine seeds) or permanently dislodge a seed?  Dislodged seeds
sometimes occur shortly after treatment and can lead to other medical
problems..ron
