Forgot to mention that the urine through the catheter is normal color.

As I recall, the same thing happened to me, and others in the group at the
time (6 years ago) had experienced the same thing.  Another thing that may
happen to you, and that concerned me but was of no consequence, is that an
otherwise clear urine turned pink after any kind of activity like walking.
It was explained to me, either by my uro or someone in this group, that this
is because the "inflated anchor" in the bladder  or the catheter lower down,
rubs tissue and produces very small amounts of blood.  That too ended.

Most guys get some leakage as you describe starting a few days post-
op.  Right after surgery the tissues around the catheter up near the
bladder are swollen and as the swelling goes down there is some
leakage.  I didn't have any pink tinge though apparently others have.

Perfectly normal.

I once read, can't remember where, that tiny amounts of blood can
cause urine to be colored pink.  It's a highly visible sign, but
it may actually only represent a drop or a few drops of blood.
It might not even be fresh blood, but blood that pooled inside
your body and has not yet been re-absorbed.

I'm not surprised that the pink urine is outside the catheter.
The catheter is taking urine directly from the bladder and any
blood from the excision of the prostate is excluded from the
path.

I would expect the problem to clear up by itself.  I would also
expect that, if you mention it to the doctor, he'll be able to
explain what's happening, but won't be able to do anything about
it.  You probably just need to complete the healing process.

If something starts to hurt, or it gets worse over time, then you
better call the doctor.  Infections are possible.  But I wouldn't
expect that you have such a problem.

[Didn't all that sound just as if I knew what I was talking
about?  Well, I actually have no qualifications to say anything I
just said, but it seemed reasonable to me :-)]
