I think he's going to say, "you had a good 1¼ years, Colophony."

I'm sorry to see your streak has ended, my friend.

Yes, but maybe only for a while.  People who go on
intermittent hormone therapy can often get back off
again after they've been on again.  You may need to
go back on ADT.  But then sometime you may be able
to get off again.  And if you need to go back again
you may be able to get off still again.

Meanwhile the research propeller heads are working
away and more options may come up.

Best of luck to you.

Why is a .689 psa regarded as so bad?  How do we know it won't just
stay there?  What happens with such a low post op psa?  Absence any
positive scans, isn't it just a number?

I hope you are right, however next psa test  is scheduled for june...let's
keep fingers crossed.

On the face of it, 0.689 is not bad.  It's less that 7/10ths of a nanogram
(millionth of a gram).  However, Cologphony had surgery in 2006.  His PSA
immediately began to rise and did so for four successive tests.  That's
biological failure.  By the time it reached 0.369, his doc put him on ADT.

He went off of ADT February 2007.  His PSA has been rising ever since.  He
has surpassed the mark that would cause my doc to advise that he go back on
ADT.  Some docs (maybe his) will wait until it surpasses 1.000 or even
2.000.

Regardless, he has to make some decisions and he knows that if he decides to
continue to wait, he is only putting off the inevitable.  So, it's not a
great time either way.

Steve,
you skipped the period oct 2007 feb 2008 when I was on casodex 150mg daily
and PSA dropped at 0,090. Who decided to stop ADT was the "famous"
oncologist you reccomend everytime somebody mention to you the urologist's
advise( bettter known as a "plumber") and you address him to the oncologist
or better the oncologist specialized in K prostate.
Nevertheless thanks to all for the support

You are correct, sir.  I remembered the 0.090, but not the Lupron.  And I
couldn't figure it out.  That explains it.

I am sure that it was explained to you that you only had a 20% shot at a
lower PSA with casodex withdrawal. Half-life of casodex is 6-8 weeks, that
is why the wait to get another PSA.

Your MO has plenty of silver bullets at hand to arrest the rising PSA at
your point.

Take Care.
