Hi!
I'm off to have an RP tomorrow morning. Any last words of advice?
Thanks!

Earplugs.
Fan & extension cord if you like a cool bedroom.
Maybe even an eye mask.
The light, heat, and incredible, incessant RACKET in the recovery ward
prohibited sleep for me.
I wish to heck I had thought of plastic dog doo doo. They told me my
ticket outta there was a bowel movement, and I think they would have
gotten a big laugh out of that.
I never go anywhere without a book or books to read. Took several to the
hospital. Don't bother; our short term memory impairment on narcotics
makes SpongeBobSquarePants confusing even when we feel lucid. For that
reason, I was advised to -- and was glad I did -- have a family member
in the recovery ward when the docs came through and updated me each AM
and PM. I fully understood what they told me, but could not recall it
five minutes later.

My greatest fear going in was that I would wake up in the recovery room
without a catheter in place. That would have meant that they found
cancer in a lymph node and aborted the surgery because the cancer had
metastasized. I was more afraid I wouldn't be able to deal with it than
I was that it would happen. First of all, that was silly because with
my pre-surgical diagnosis, that was highly unlikely, the chances being
something like 1 in 25. Secondly, when I woke up, I was so out of it
that I wasn't interested in much of anything. What actually happened is
that the surgical resident was right there and immediately told me all
went well and that they thought they had preserved the nerves. The
point of this story is that whatever you worry about almost certainly
won't happen and moreover, when you wake up you probably won't care
about much of anything.

good luck, good health, and don't let it get you down. I'm 3 yrs + and still
here to tell the tale. I can pass anything but a bathroom but it's a small
price to pay! Enjoy the rest, let your body heal and then back to living
life. They told me if I had to go and get cancer then this was the one to
get. My wife is fighting breast cancer and I know |I got off easy. Hope you
do too!!

Damn. I'm too late for advice and a prayer.
By now you should be hoping that you can fart soon.
