Loud Mouth Safire revealed more of his low I.Q. with:

That's after the government profiteered from his years in
the service for as little as $78 a month (when I enlisted).

Of course congress exempted Uncle Sam from the minimum
wage laws -- as well as ADA and a host of other laws.

If the military operated like private business and paid a
decent, living wage, there would be no need for "socialized
medicine (i.e. the VA system) except possible for the truly
deserving wounded-in-action veteran.

If Uncle Sam paid minimum wages, we wouldn't have military
families qualifying for food stamps and other socialized
programs.

Safire and his ilk are welcome to sign up for the VA system any time
they want. The only requirement is serving your country in uniform for
20 years ... or even less if one's injuries are that disabling and
permanent. Piece of cake, right, Safire?
