Has anyone had this therapy?

What were the results, collateral damage?

Is it so expensive that most insurers won't cover it?

Any experience with Loma Linda?

is our most prolific expert, but he visits the NG seldom.  He was sitting at
0.59 PSA in January; almost five years after tx.

who chimed in last month with a great PSA one year after tx.

Actually, Steve, that was a 10 month post-treatment PSA.

Doofy, I am Paul's wife and have been a member of this group for a
little over a year. Paul had proton treatment at Loma Linda from
4/2/07-5/31/07. There were very few side effects, just some urinary
urgency and burning during the treatment period. This disappeared
after about a month post-treatment.

Here is a blog I set up for him last year.

We are fortunate in that our insurance covered the treatments at Loma
Linda as an in-network provider. This means that our copay was very
small. Paul turned 65 while undergoing treatment and Medicare kicked
in for the second half. Our primary insurance then became secondary to
Medicare for him.

Here is a link to a Yahoo Groups list that was recently set up by a
proton advocate/cancer survivor, Fuller Jones, who underwent proton
treatment at Loma Linda in 2007 also.

Hope this helps.
