Questions for Robotic Patients...After effects

I had my davinci robotic RP Jan 24, and because the pca had spread to
the lymph nodes and were removed, the operation took about 3 hours
instead of 1/3 that time.
Also, I was in severe pain in my lower abdomen for the entire time in
the hospital (had to stay 3 nights) and my shoulders hurt terribly
when I managed to get up and walk.  This i understand is either from
the gas injected during the procedure and/or the position of my body
(slanted back on the table).
All of those after effects have subsided except one (which I didn''t
even mention)....I get a sharp intense pain in my left rib cage
whenever I breathe deeply...almost like broken ribs.  The strange
thing is it gets chronic and unbearable at night when i sleep...no
matter what side i'm on...it hurts very badly.
It's almost like my rib cage was crushed during the procedure....does
any of this make sense?
I know what some of you may be thinking ....mets...but this is brand
new since the operation.
I haven't had a chance to report this to my doctor cause its the
weekend, but was still interested if anyone else experienced this.
Also, I still battle a daily fever which goes from normal about 75% of
the day to about 100 at night...my bed is a sweat box.

I'd buy a high-quality egg-crate foam or memory foam mattress pad today.
I've used both (separately) with 100% overnight success in "curing"
rib and hip bursa pain that had hurt at night for weeks (ribs) and years
(hip). You can pay $800 for a TempurPedic memory foam topper pad, or $50
for Walmart's higher-rated (by Consumer Report) topper.

As for the infection or inflammation (the fever), I'd get it checked out
ASAP to be sure it's not an infection waiting to go ballistic. OTOH,
it's amazing how excruciating and disabling a simple rib cartilage
inflammation (costochondritis) can be, and how quickly (minutes) it
takes to fix. I've passed kidney stones, broken a few bones, torn
muscles, had many surgeries, and even had a cold once, and the disabling
effect of costochondritis (its onset included instant, total disability
with horrific chest pain) ranked at or very near the top of the heap.
One simple pill, an NSAID if I recall correctly, and I felt 90%
recovered by the time I got home from the ER.

Do they all hurt like that or is it because I had mine in for 3 weeks?
Anyway, the pain in the chest has subsided but I'm still getting ct
scan to find out what's going on :(

Are we still talking about prostate? Mine started inducing pain from
three years ago. My PSA climbed to over 30 and the  biopsies still read
benine.  What am I to do.
