why post RP leakage invariably occurs about 10 seconds after putting on a
clean dry pad?

Hi Envo
I think it is a conspiracy by the pad manufacturers...Smile
Perhaps someone has an answer to this riddle:
Why one day one can manage with four pads and the next, my cup runnet over
with eight?
In the incontinence department, at the moment I am going backwards rather
then getting better. But it is early days yet.
Chinn-Up. It could be worth.

Welcome back, Newman.
I don't have an answer for you. I usually have not problem that quickly.
My mystery is when my pad is dry, I usually have pretty good control. Once
I leak, though, I can do very little to prevent continued leakage.

I'm not really sure but I think it's tied in to that part of the
universe that causes a shoe lace to break only when you're trying to tie
it and are already late for an appointment. <g>

I assume you empty your bladder just before changing pads. That leaves
your urethra full of urine, and your surgeon removed the sphincter
designed to stop that full tube from draining out freely. Next time you
plan to change pads, void, milk the remaining urine out [I suggest you
not do that in a crowded men's room or the locker room shower ;-) ],
and wait a minute before changing pads. See if that helps.

Been there, done that...... it still happens!
I think Unquestionably Confused's answers is nearest the solution - also
known as Sod's or Murphy's Law.

Same here. The fuller my bladder is, the drier I am. Unfortunately,
keeping the bladder full harms it. I've finally committed -- so far
successfully -- to three months of by-the-book Kegels to see whether
they help me. It's been tough to form the habit since they're just
invisible isometrics, unlike actually DOING something.
Besides, I can't imagine being to reliably dry that I'd ever go anywhere
w/o pads again. I'd far rather wear dry pads 100% of the time than wish
to hell once or twice a year I HAD worn them away from home.
