Hello fellow travellers.
Hard to believe what a difference a day/week makes.- And what a difference
No catheter makes.
Thanks to modern medicine and the body's amazing recuperation and healing
abilities. It is now only thirteen days after a four hour operation and
considering that I am 66 years old...I feel great and hade already returned
to my regular fulltime office job last Tuesday.
I updated my stats and am so thankful I did not delay the operation any
longer, as according to the Pathology of the prostate, the cancer started to
break thru the capsule in one minute area.
Getting back to "what a difference a day makes"...After removal of the
catheter, that day and the next, it was as if someone opened the tap and
forgot to close it. Day three - 5 pads, day four - 4 pads and today I think
I will be managing with only two pads. So all who come behind me, Don't
despair...Give it time and stay positive.
Best wishes,
John from Australia

Congrats on the great news and swift recovery, John. At this rate, give
it a couple of weeks and you'll be back tossing down beers or dog piss
(Foster's<g>) and singing "How dry I am."

Glad to hear you're recuperating so quickly. Sorry to hear the bastard got

The cath and the week after it's removal were easily the worst part
for me. If I never see another one of those it'll be none too soon.
Best wishes on the continued recovery.

John,
Congratulations on the nice recovery and especially congrats on the catheter
removal. I'm jealous since mine will be in for another week! I was
planning on taking a few pads down to the clinic when I get it out (I hope)
next Monday but it sounds like I better take a small box full! We have a
two-hour drive back home and my wife would probably object to my wetting her
nice leather car seats!
We're certainly lucky to be living in an age where robotic surgery exists!
Like you, I'm amazed at the rapid recovery from such a major surgery. I was
feeling fine (other than the nusiance of the catheter) within 24 hours.
Sorry to hear about the minor breakthrough your pathology revealed. Will
the doctors do anything different in your subsequent treatment because of
that?
Regards,
Jim
