The urologist tells me not to worry as long as it is under 1.0....I remember
him saying the target was to get the PSA down to 1.5.   He's happy with the
shrinkage of the prostate.  But..I suffer from the occasional kidney stone,
and that low, pain is returning with blood in the urine.  So, it's over to
the imaging center Monday for a CT scan to find out what's going on.  The
urologist says that trace amounts of blood in the urine, detectable in blood
tests in common one year after brachytherepy.  I hope his information is
correct.

3Putt, I know nothing about how seeds work, but, if you and your Doc
are happy with the PSA - congratulations!

I DO have personal knowledge about kidney stones, though!  I had them
once about 20 years ago - and hope to God I don't have that experience
again.  Mine was not a low pain.  It came on very suddenly and was
severe!  Repeated 10mg doses of valium and morphine in an ER finally
let the damned thing pass.  Fortunately, I've not had a recurrence.  I
sincerely hope that you can get the stone problem corrected quickly.

Best wishes,
Burney

3 Putt,

I had detectable ( not visible) blood for  about two years following
brachytherapy, it subsided then became undetectable. Please don't expect
your PSA to plummet, it won't as you might expect following an RP, with
seeds it takes a while. My last was 0.04, we'll see the next results in a
few weeks. At any rate, since being diagnosed with PCa I've been blessed
with another grandson, had successful bypass surgery, have long since
returned to an active work routine and  occasionally some sex(not like when
I was 20 ) but still great.

Wish you the best

Your PSA sounds okay to me 3Putt.

I had HDR brachytherapy and my PSA was all over the place for the
first three years.  In the first year it was as high as .9 and as low as
.6.  In the second year it jumped up and down, reaching a high of
1.8.  Then it began to settle down and today, at four years, it's
below .2.

Good luck.
