Just read some of the posts.

What a shame. To bad we dont have a moderator that could block these
people that destroy rather than build a very helpful support group.

This newsgroup and the people in it saved my life. Most knew more than
the physicians on treatments and explained it better than any
certified medical professionals.

I learned tons on this support group, shared my quest and the
friendships were heartfelt.

Looks like a couple of individuals are trying to destroy whats good
and helpful.

Good luck to everyone, Happy New Year and...

Moderation, like bigger government, has significant pros and cons.

I don't want to start a squabble, but must say that I've seen moderated
groups and free ones such as ascp.

I much prefer the free ones.

If some Flamer (flaming AH) appears on a free group, it will not last
long. It is free to say what it likes, and the others are free to give
it the attention it deserves. Soon, though it might seem longer, it will
shrivel up and disappear. It cannot live without the attention it craves.

The moderated groups are, IMO, subject to too many vagaries, such as the
moderator's state of digestion, political views, medical views, and
especially willingness to permit people to be themselves. On another
group, where I will not post, I asked, "quis custodiet ipso custodes?"
(who will guard the guards themselves?) Meaning simply this: a moderator
is responsible to no one for his actions. No one answered.

That is too much for me.

Regards,

Steve J
