Hi, everyone:

If brachytherapy was your choice of treatment or is under consideration
as your possible choice, I'd like to recommend

Wallner, K., Merrick, G., Blasko, J. and Dattoli, M.J. (2008) Prostate
Brachytherapy Made Complicated, 3rd ed.  SmartMedicine Press, Seattle.
ISBN 978-0-9648991-6-2.

The book is expensive (about $100), but worth every penny for its upbeat
but honest descriptions of every aspect of brachy.  The second edition
came out in 2001 so there has been a lot of evolution of brachytherapy
technique, and a lot of new statistics are available.  The authors make
good use of this new information.

I got my copy yesterday and have already skimmed through most of it and
carefully read the rest (the parts that seem most relevant to my current
state).  It's comforting to know as much as possible about what's been
done and what's likely for the future, and the book seems to me to be a
reliable source of that knowledge.  Although it's a textbook for
practitioners, the authors have a relaxed, semi-colloquial style that
makes the material readily accessible to a lay reader such as I am.  If
you only read one book about treating PCA, this should be the one (but of
course reading only one book is _not_ recommended ;)

Ya got me there. Most sources don't say what edition it is, and I didn't
know there were multiple editions. But I did find some copies of the 2nd
edition for eight bucks. Are we even?   ;-)

Awww... I was hoping some of the folks on here might be able to get the
latest and greatest (the 2nd and 1st editions are _way_ out of date)
Prostate Brachytherapy Made Complicated for a decent price.  But I still
say it's worth the $100.
