Not necessarily.

See Johnstone PA et al., "'Insignificant' prostate cancer on biopsy:
pathologic results from subsequent radical prostatectomy." Prostate
Cancer Prostatic Dis. 2007;10(3):237-41.

"....minimal disease on biopsy does not reliably predict minimal disease
in the subsequent prostatectomy specimen, in terms of the size and grade
of tumor, extracapsular extension or positive margins."

So what is one to do? Well, check other markers. The ones that most uros
seem to ignore -- or don't know about.

Frex:
PAP
NSE
CGA
CEA
PSA Doubling Time

Well, silly me, I neglected to include the Pub Med ID number. It is
17387320.

Pub Med is at www.pubmed.gov
