John Nickolls, our only New Zealander to my knowledge, came to our group after his diagnosis in December 22, 2001. He had an initial PSA of 704, was Stage T4, and a Gleason of 7. His initial bone scan showed cancer "all over". He was initially treated with Zolodex and four years later, in December 2005, he underwent orchiectomy. He also retired from work. His PSA was 1.8 in 2005, but by June 2006 it was back up to 197.1 and there was little they could do to slow it. On December 23, 2007, six years and one day after being diagnosed with metastatic cancer throughout his body, John died with Michelle at his side.
