I had prostate cancer surgery about 3 years and since then my PSA has been
<0.1, and for that I am grateful. Further I have had no significant problem
with incontinence, except for an occasional dribble or leak once in a while,
especially with a bit more wine that I should be drinking
When I had surgery I was 68 and had no major problems with getting an
erection. Subsequent to the surgery, I have had no ability to get an
erection, even with the use of Lavitra and the other pills. About 2 years
ago, I did try briefly the injections and was able to get a good firm
erection, but there was a lot of discomfort and I have since stopped.
Along with the inability to obtain an erection, I have almost totally lost
all sensation and feeling on the underside of the penis head. Before
surgery, I usually was very sensitive and if touched there, it was a good
feeling almost always resulting in an erection.
For the first several months right after surgery, this was not the case.
Although not able to get an erection, by gently rubbing, I could achieve
rather easily an orgasm. For the most part of the last 2 years, however,
with the loss of any sensitivity under the head of the penis, obtaining any
orgasm is out of the question.
So, I find myself reconsidering and going back to the uro to possibly
restart the injections or maybe Muse.
Has anyone has a similar experience, or ideas what causes the loss of
sensitivity, and would anyone have any suggestions. Implants are for me out
of the question.
Thank you,
RB

Most men your age.

Elevated blood sugar, peripheral artery disease, and a whole host of
possibilities one could find in Google ... including prostate cancer
treatment.
A callous, maybe? ;-)

RB, I had a somewhat similar experience but slightly different location.
After surgery, I lost all feeling at the base of the shaft for about 1",
and for about half of the scrotum. With time, the penile feeling
returned fully, but not so with the scrotum. I also lost feeling on the
surface of a strip on my leg near my knee, which has never come back. I
was told that this was unusual, but must be due to cut nerves, or nerve
damage. The feeling returned at the base of the penis over a pretty long
period of time, but I'm sorry to say I don't remember exactly how long.
The feeling at the scrotum slowly returned only to a point and then
progressed no further, leaving maybe the rear third and the upper
portion of it dead to feeling. The area on my leg never changed for the
better. Feeling was gone primarily on the surface, not inside. The
leg, no biggie. The scrotum no biggie. The base of the penis, scary, but
the head would have been much worse. I wish you luck and hope that your
feeling returns with time as nerves heal, regenerate, whatever they have
to do.
The first signs of something going on in the way of healing for me was
an occasional prickly feeling, sometimes an itching, which might come
and go. I had feeling inside, but nothing on the surface. Good luck to
you, and I sure hope you get your feeling back quickly.

Hey, Sonny! It's been over a year! Glad to hear you're still doing well.

Sorry, can't help you there. I'm out of the game while on ADT.
