jeckychai@yahoo.com.cn - 27 Dec 2007 05:20 GMT What are symptoms of bone cancer?
Symptoms of bone cancer tend to develop slowly. They depend on the type, location, and size of the tumor. Pain is the most frequent symptom of bone cancer. Sometimes a firm, slightly tender lump on the bone can be felt through the skin. In some cases, bone cancer interferes with normal movements. Bone cancer can also cause bones to break. These symptoms are not sure signs of cancer. They may also be caused by other, less serious problems. Individuals who are experiencing symptoms should consult a doctor. How is bone cancer diagnosed?
To diagnose bone cancer, the doctor asks about the patient's personal and family medical history and does a complete physical exam. In addition to checking the general signs of health, the doctor usually orders blood tests and x-rays. X-rays can show the location, size, and shape of a bone tumor. On x-rays, benign tumors usually look round and smooth, with distinct edges. Bone cancers generally have odd shapes and irregular edges. If x-rays show that the tumor is possible cancer, some of the following special tests may be done. These tests can also show whether the cancer has begun to spread. Bone scans outline the size, shape, and location of abnormal areas in the bone. A small amount of radioactive material is injected into the bloodstream. This material collects in the bones and is detected by a special instrument called a scanner. CT or CAT scan <http://www.medicinenet.com/script_/main/art.asp? articlekey=315> is an x-ray procedure that gives detailed pictures of cross-sections of the body. The pictures are created by a computer. MRI (magnetic resonance imaging also creates detailed pictures of cross-sections of the body. MRI uses a very strong magnet linked to a computer. Angiograms are special x-rays of the blood vessels. A dye that shows up on x-rays is injected into the bloodstream so that the vessels can be seen in detail. This test is also done to help plan surgery. A biopsy is the only sure way to tell whether cancer is present. Biopsies are best done at a hospital where doctors are experienced in the diagnosis of bone cancers. The doctor removes a sample of tissue from the bone tumor. A pathologist looks at the tissue under a microscope. If cancer is found, the pathologist can tell the type of sarcoma and whether it is likely to grow slowly or quickly.
If a diagnosis of bone cancer is made, it is important for the doctor to know exactly where the cancer is located and whether it has spread from its original location. This information is very important for planning treatment. The results of

I.P. Freely - 27 Dec 2007 06:06 GMT Do you half-wits not know that we are reporting you your ISPs with demands that they shut down your accounts?
Steve Kramer - 27 Dec 2007 09:12 GMT > Do you half-wits not know that we are reporting you your ISPs with demands > that they shut down your accounts? "Accounts", I think, is the operative word. I keep plonking and the messages keep coming from different account names. So, I suggest the answer to you inquiry is, "yes."
Heather - 27 Dec 2007 18:06 GMT Ummm, and who are you reporting it to?? (G) I tracked him back to Kuala Lumpur and didn't go any further. He is not Google or Yahoo (in China) and so on.
They are forged or 'bot headers and there is no way to trace them. Just as a point of interest, I changed ISP's a while back and then after 4 months went back to my original one. I asked for and got my old address and even while the tech and I were setting it up, I got two spam emails!!!
Translation....even after 4 months of being a dead email address, the auto spam senders were still bombarding it. I was getting about 40/day.
PITA.....sigh. Heather

Does sending the Path info not help the ISPs identify the spammers, or is this a lost cause?
Or do we just PLONK Yahoo and Lycos and hope our lottery win notification doesn't come through them?

Well......Google doesn't seem to be on the ball with blocking spammers and then again, lots of times the ISP/ng names are forged, so I just ignore all but the most obviously easy to get ones.
I used Spamcop for years to report them, but they no longer work on news group spam for obvious reasons. (too much spam....too little info in the headers).
Laughing at your comment re lottery wins.....you been toying with those Nigerians again?? (snicker). I think Steve K. is first in line for the big payout from those guys. (G)

Hi Little Stevie Wonder.......for some strange reason your posts don't show up on 2 of my freebie news groups, so I switched back to Motzarella (which was down for a bit) and lo and behold......reams of *words of wisdom* penned by you, lol. I couldn't remember Fagbemi's name either. He lives somewhere near me.....ACK!!
I will now finish looking at this group and see what else you answered.
OK, caught up now and will stay with this ng server. Or perhaps break down and subscribe to a *real one*. (G)
Happy New Year to all.......Ron and Heather

Not had a good day. Called the ambulance at 6 am....Ron couldn't lift his head off the pillow due to vertigo. He refused to go to the hospital, so spent 2 or 3 hours at the Walk In Clinic. Got the Head Honcho and he did a damn good job of trying to diagnose what was causing this. Middle ear?? Doesn't think it is vaso vagus. Blood pressure was up and down like a toilet seat.
I will be watching him like a hawk!! Couldn't lift him this morning, so had to call the medics. But I told them it was NOT urgent, so if it was vaso vagus, they missed the *time line*. His blood pressure bounces back up literally within minutes with that.
Nice start to 2008, eh?

I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff, but I did try a host lookup and a traceroute on the "NNTP-Posting-Host" (60.54.99.94) from the headers and got precisely nowhere.
It looks like he's posting through Google, but so many of the headers are forged I'm not sure of anything.
> Or do we just PLONK Yahoo and Lycos and hope our lottery win > notification doesn't come through them? Plonking Yahoo would kill all of my posts, since I use a Yahoo email address (a real one that you can actually send mail to). Some others here may also be using Yahoo mail.
It's also not clear how much it would help. People who forge email addresses can make up anything they like, including your own email address. That actually happened to me when someone had my email address in their address book and their computer got taken over by a spam bot. It starting sending millions of spams that appeared to come from me! I had to explain things to many irate folks who thought I was spamming them and had to abandon the email address and get another.
In some cases it's possible to catch these miscreants if you buy something from them, pay with a check (dangerous, but less dangerous than a credit card perhaps) and then track down who cashed it.
But then what would you do? Short of flying to Nairobi, Kuala Lumpur, Pyongyang, or wherever he lives and throttling him, there's probably no way to punish him. The authorities just don't care.
Some of the proprietary groups vendors like Yahoo Groups are pretty good at policing their groups. They blacklist any email address that is shown to be spamming, making it more of a pain in the butt for the spammer. But Usenet is wide open. It was created in an innocent age when all computer users formed a community of like minded people who wouldn't dream of attacking each other.
Personally, I'd like to keep using the open Usenet as much as possible rather than a proprietary service where the company owns all of the posted messages and they aren't replicated anywhere else. But I confess that I get pretty tired of the spammers.
We could switch to a moderated group and whitelist all of the regular contributors so that their posts go through automatically. But some person or group would have to take on a burden of doing the moderation work and there would be risks, for example in one group I use the moderator had a heart attack of some kind and the group was silent for about two months.

I got abuse@tm.net.my (amongst the other registration data) using http://www.iptools.com/ and the WhoIs box. Not that they will do anything about all the spam.
