in nutshell the study just released says that PC patient on Lupron still
develops metastatic cancer and because of testosterone depletion rate
for hart attack is 3 times greater!!

no way to win with trying to suppress/cure PC.
I am now a believer that 'healing' is the only way to go!

Hi Colophony......it threw me for a minute or so too.  I believe he
means that his wife's "benefits" are tremendous, should he croak of a
heart attack.

At first I thought he was digging into her valium, LOL!!

He will correct me, I am sure.

Cheers.....Heather

My retirement (decidedly not my Social Security) is set up such that if I
die before retirement AND before my wife dies, she gets a portion of my
salary for the rest of her life.  However, there are some circumstances
whereby she gets my whole salary.  Death by heart attack is included as one
of those and death by cancer is not.  In reality, she would have one hell of
a decision to make because my company and I also pay into an annuity that
will be quite large by the time I retire.  If she invoked the survivor's
benefits clause, the annuity disappears for all intents and purposes.
She'll probably do better with the annuity route.

It was intented to be an off-handed, comical comment on Sven's silliness.

What study is that? Please provide a reference to the source so others
can read it.

As is well-recognized, no LHRH agonist such as Lupron is curative. They
can and usually do extend survival.

Unfortunately, if by "healing", you mean using alternative medicine
treatments, or no treatments at all, that doesn't work either.

Someday scientists will unravel the biology of aging and learn
ways to stop it (which may be no fun for people living under
the rule of men like Saddam Hussein.)  Until then, we are all
doomed to die of something.

For myself, I think I'd prefer a heart attack to cancer, though heart
disease can sometimes be slow and difficult too.

*GREAT*!!!

I've seen medical newsletter reports of the study, and this sounds like
an easy way out of the dilemma; it's amazing that no one else has
thought of this revolutionary solution to cancer.

Now tell us, how do we do we just ... you know ... *HEAL* ourselves?

Let us guess ... you're a Presidential candidate? A vitamin huckster?

Yo Freely; I was just taken off from a study 'epothalone' chemo - side
effects: feet and fingers numness! So my onko tells me that the 'standrd
chemo' if lucky might regress the PC as much as 1 year!  So, you know I
am kinda thinking 'out of the box' or I could just get a gallon of
Southern Comfort and sit down front of the house and watch the grass grow!

I will keep you posted of my progress and in mean time you can K.M.A.!

PS. however, the future is bright:
