The Bathtub Test

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how
you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized.

"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a
teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to
empty the bathtub."

"Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use the
bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup."

"No," said the Director,

(spoiler)

(wait for it....)

"A normal person would pull the plug.
Do you want a bed near the window?"

I immediately lay down in the warm water in my three-piece suit,
Homburg, and wingtips, enjoyed a relaxing hot soak, pulled the plug,
stepped out, and then challenged the doctor to make a decision according
to his usual criterion. He began babbling and crawled into the bed by
the window, muttering something about institutional rules.

I'll vote for this one as the best answer, but only if it's a wash and
wear suit.  Even then, I'd worry about the Homburg.

Does anyone still own a leisure suit from the 70's?

It's a wetsuit. I lied about the Homburg and wingtips.

Since it was a multiple choice test, and "None of the Above" wasn't included
as an answer, those of you who pulled the plug had the wrong answer.

No one said it was a multiple choice test (i.e., that our ONLY options
were the spoon, cup, and bucket.)

"But I thought you locked people up for being crazy, not stupid," said the
visitor.
