I apologised for the mildest of incursions, if it was one at all. So you use it as an excuse to insult and abuse me again, and again and again.

Most of us here are trying to live long enough that something like a heart attack will kill us before prostate cancer does. We support each other in that vein. While we are dying, or afraid that the next PSA check will confirm we are dying, we have interlopers who come in with their spam. They want to sell us Viagra; or mortgages; or virgins; or a lifestyle that has absolutely no chance of saving us.
So, when we see yours, some of us get pissed. Not all. Or maybe not one. But some.
So, please do not feel so abused here. If you are legit, you just stumbled into the wrong forum.

Actually, this whole thing seems to me to be an accumulation of misunderstandings.
As far as I could see AML never made a commercial posting to the group. California_chief completely misinterpreted what he wrote.
Also as far as I can tell, Heather never meant to criticize AML. She was simply speaking in general terms and AML mistakenly thought she was attacking him.
So, everybody be cool. We're all in the same boat.
AML, welcome to the group. Please don't be put out by the misunderstandings. Everything is fine.
Alan
BH - 19 Sep 2007 20:56 GMT Well said, Alan. Thank you. Hopefully all concerned will let the misunderstandings be in the past and continue to provide support under the conditions you so accurately describe.
Another personal anecdote related to the circumstances we all face.....
When my mother went in for removal of a cataract at age 75, the docs discovered that she had a genetic heart condition that would have caused her to go to sleep one night and not wake up - and they were pretty certain it would happen sooner rather than later. (Her mother and two siblings had died under similar circumstances between the ages of 74 and 76.) Mom got a pacemaker and is doing great, now at age 86, with a hip replacemnt in the meantime. I'm happy for her. For myself, if I can make it to 75 (11 years from now) and die peacefully in my sleep rather than be eaten alive by cancer, that would be a good thing! Better than being run over my a Mack truck, I think. :-) If I make it to age 75, I will have lived 23 years after first being diagnosed and having RP. And so far the quality of life has been good. Not bad.....
Welcome, AML
And hopefully the thread about rules in the usenet (an almost perfect anarchy) will die soon.
My best to all, Burney

And I am just this sweet little old lady who never even says "damn". (Not bloody likely, says Little Stevie Wonder).
Kissies....the old lady.

I am so satiated with the abuse I am getting from alt.support.cancer - which is entirely gratuitous.

I'm posting in alt.support.cancer.prostate.

A M L [Manchester England] - 20 Sep 2007 12:14 GMT > So, please do not feel so abused here. If you are > legit, you just stumbled into the wrong forum. Sorry. I'm getting a lot of abuse from alt.support.cancer -> sock puppets pretending they don't know what AML is and accusing me of mental illness.

And, I'm a member of NAMI.

Jerry......I didn't even see what the heck it is you all are arguing about. And if I did, it certainly didn't seem to me to be out of line.

In other words.....life is too short for this sort of thing and I am sorry you thought I was insulting you.....I wasn't.
The spammers are on all news groups and I killfile a few with discretion. Obviously I didn't consider you to be one because I saw this post and am answering it and assuring you that I did not mean YOU when I made that comment.

Heather - 19 Sep 2007 22:09 GMT Whoops.....I even called you Jerry instead of A M L.....I most definitely am losing it these days.....LOL.
Apologies to AML for not being clear enough with my rant on spammers. It certainly was not directed to him or Jerry.....grin..

Thanks, Jerry :-)

I am sorry. Please forgive me.

As for AML, I have now looked it up and sorry to hear that. I was getting it mixed up with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).
You will notice that I have cut out all of the other news groups.....perhaps you should cut out any that are giving you grief.
Cheers.....Heather (and I have been to Manchester, grin......well, got lost there and ended up in Stockport. I will hold my tongue, lol)
