Hi Guys,

Nothing earth shattering, but very pleasing for sure; latest PSA this month
(6mo. interval) 0.14 following brachy in June 04. The next is sched for Feb.
08. Finally got the dreaded (my perception) colonoscopy, everything was
fine. I don't post very often anymore, but I do visit and lurk on a regular
basis and consider everyone here a friend; especially those who have had
different opinions than me on some issues and keep on talking.

This is a great group of folks from diverse backgrounds sharing a common
interest, experiences and general (not medical) advice that one might not
receive from their physician.

Anything you may read here that raises a question in your mind is worth
asking your Dr. about. If he/she objects to your internet inquisitiveness
or any other search for information; fire them. I've been fortunate enough
to have a great team, GP, Uro and Cardiologist and lately the Gastro-guy
that speak openly to me and share their information with each other with the
GP being the "clearing house"

Wish you all a happy Labor Day weekend.

Steve,

Your'e right, it's all in the delivery.

I guess I'm tired from summer work, I've been involved with K-12 school
construction and have approval to open 2 and have 2 more to go within the
next week, but, "IF IT WAS EASY,THEY WOULD HAVE LITTLE GIRLS DOING THE JOB".
Now I'll get beat up verbally :-)

Oh, you are in trouble!!!!
Just remember that women do twice the work (and that's because they do it
right the first time!) at half the pay. Just ain't fair, but it's true.

Well, that explains why I never see any female hod carriers.  Who would do
that for half the pay?  :-)

(Hmmph!  For some reason, this has been sitting in my outbox for awhile...)

That's great news, Tom.  I hope it stays low for many more years.

Colonoscopies must be a roll of the dice as far as discomfort goes.  I had
my first in the winter of 2006 (some months before my PCa diagnosis), and I
actually sort of enjoyed the procedure (but not the prep!).  I was joking
with the nurses and doc, and discussing some aspects of the shape of the
colon cross-section that had some geometric appeal.  No sedative or
anything.  So, when it was my wife's turn, she figured that if I didn't
need any drugs then she would do without, too.  Big mistake; she was in
agony throughout.  Turns out that portions of her colon are longer and
loopier than usual, and so the doc had to do some additional turns.  She
now swears she'll never have another one -- she doesn't mean it, of course,
she's much more sensible than that.

Hi Steve.

If you are still collecting stats, you can file this away too -
After 5 months of ADT (Eligard) my PSA is 0.05 (where it should be) and my T
is at castrate level too (0.69 nM/L).  I guess it makes sense to go ahead
with my next 6 month injection in early October as scheduled.

I could do without the annoying SEs (anaemia, hot flushes, hypertension, no
libido, "mental fog") but the drop in PSA from 1.6 in mid April is a
consolation.

Those SEs can be a distraction, but they are certainly better than having
your PSA double every 9 months.

Glad to hear it's working for you, Joe.
