I am trying to post with a long URL in the body. The post does not get through. I tried to convert using this site for generating a tiny URL: http://www.tiny.cc/ But when I test the tiny URL generated, I get an error message. Any advice? Is there another site for the same purpose? Many thanks. Go here for their country finder: http://tinyurl.com/yv2jcl). I bring this up only because I have heard that urls associated with some smaller countries are not to be trusted. I do not know if the Cocos Islands are a part of that group or not. But I just tried using tiny.cc to create a short link to the same BitMedia site as I did a moment ago using TinyURL, and the created link does not work. So, it's not your problem; it's tiny.cc's. Try going to http://www.tinyurl.com. That's what I started using recently, based on the recommendations of folks on this NG. Here it is: (1) Copy the thundering-long URL. (2) Open http://tinyurl.com/ (3) Paste the thundering-long URL in the blank box labeled "Enter a long URL to make tiny:" (4) Click on the button, "Make Tiny URL!" (5) READ the new window that will open which includes the translated "tiny url." (6) Copy it. (7) Paste it where desired. Hello? What's the problem? If *I* can understand it, anyone can. What's the problem? If *I* can understand it, anyone can. Even simpler... When you create the Tiny URL and the new page opens, check your clipboard. With my install of IE 6 the tiny URL is automatically placed on your clipboard, you don't even have to highlight it and copy it to the board. I know, I know, the website tells you that you must do this. All I can say is give it a try and cut out two steps. Bob - who is no longer confused<g>
