Merv Griffin, who was recently hospitalized for a recurrence of prostate
cancer, is gravely ill.
Sources say that prognosis for Griffin, 82, were not good. However Griffin's
representatives won't confirm or deny the report.
Griffin, the game show mogul who invented and produced "Jeopardy!" and
"Wheel of Fortune," was treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for the
recurrence in July.
The cancer was discovered during a routine examination, said his spokeswoman
Marcia Newberger.
During the hospitalization in July, Griffin remained upbeat, saying in a
statement: "I'd rather play 'Jeopardy!' than live it. I was ready for a
vacation; however, this wasn't the destination I had in mind."
Griffin was originally diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1996.
Born July 6, 1925, in San Mateo, Calif., Griffin began his career as a
singer, bandleader and actor.

Anyone know what kind of treatment he received after initial diagnosis?
