Hi,
I'm 3 years post RP and have not had any luck with my ED. Pill don't
work at all, the injections didn't maintain and the pump is hit or miss.
I'm considering an inplant. Can anyone give me any information the subject.
I posted a month ago but got no response. Hopefully it was just bad timing.
I'd appreciate any info.
Thanks

Try and go back to the Dr.
The injections do work.......ask the Dr. about that.
The pump will work too. It is a vacuum device that will pull blood into the
penis. with a constriction ring it will stay there for some time.
You have to keep trying and work on this.

I am sorry you got no responses re penal implants. Very few here have tried
them and I guess they have all gone on their merry way.
I can tell you, however, that I do not recall a negative comment from those
who tried that route.

You might have a look at Pubmed http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez/
It's a database of abstracts of most of the world's medical journals.
Search for "penile implants". You'll find over a thousand articles
about the subject. I suspect that the vast majority of these articles
are by specialists who make part or all of their living doing penile
implants. That means that you'll be getting 1) expert information,
but also 2) information from people who have a bias towards the
procedure.
It looks like there are some risks of infection or complications
down the road, but the experts seem to feel these can be
minimized and that the patients are generally happy.
Personally, I have some aversion to elective surgery and
would try very hard to make other techniques work, but you
may have already done your best in that regard.
As we say with any other surgical procedure - find an expert
to do it, someone who has done lots and lots of these, not
a urologist who wants to try doing it, or who has only done a
few.
Good luck.
