I hope everyone watchng a baseball game Sunday noticed the blue ribbons
players were wearing, and the MLB signs around the ball park.

The way the Reds are playing, I wouldn't watch if they were wearing sandwich
signs.

Cute, Steve. :-)

Indeed Sunday was baseball's PCa awareness day (Father's Day)...but It
was troubling that more was not said.

When MLB started this thing a few years ago...Tommy Lasorda and Michael
Milken would go to each ballpark and talk quite a bit on each broadcast
about PCa.

I know Milken still does..but they seem to have gotten less 'face time'
than even 2 years ago.

Our local (Chicago) grocery chain (Dominick's...a Safeway Co.) also has
a campaign this month and again...not much of a response.

As is often said...women have done a GREAT job of making breast cancer
known...WE men and women have a long way to go.

Talking to my doc about it...(and guys here)...it sure seems to have a
'macho' component to it.

There was a free screening here last month and of all the men who took
part...10% refused the DRE.

It pains me that PCa has to hit close to home before people get on the
bandwagon.

Best to all,

Ron B.
