I went to the Texas Cancer Clinic in SA yesterday. They gave me an
injection of Indium. It is a radioactive material. They told me to
avoid contact with children under 2 yrs. of age and pregnant women for
10 days because I, myself, will be that radioactive for 10 days. They
also said if I was leaving the the country or going anywhere else that
there are  radiation detectors they have a form letter to give me,
explaining why I set the beepers off. Normally, that would alarm me.
Now, I just don't give a damn. Anyhow, back to the scan.
I go back in Tues. 06/19/07 and they run 3 different CT and other(?)
scans on me. One of which takes 64 minutes and looks at all the soft
tissue in my body in 3D.  This Indium, by then, will have attached
itself to any psa or pc cells in my body and they can see what the
little critters are up to.
Further treatment options weren't discussed yet. However, in response
to an earlier question from Steve J, They stopped ADT in 06 because I
had  several months of it and an RP as well as rad treatments of
prostate bed and surrounding area. At that point, and for 6 more
months, my psa showed .05, or undetectable to that particular lab.
I'm sure ADT is an option, but I don't want ADT as long as there is
something else available, like, proton beam, or IGRT, that might can
hit the pin pointed cells.
That's about all I know for now, but will keep posting.

God Bless all

Don't get your hopes up for that.  With your PSA, whatever growth you may
have may be so widely sporadic and miniscule, they will not find it.
Actually, I imagine an unclear prostascint scan is good news at an PSA
level.  That means there is no visible collection of PCa anywhere -- called
a tumor.

Dave, I assume you have met one of my doctors - Brad Prestidge - as the TCC
is his operation. How did the Indium test work out?
