Hello everyone. My name is Fernando Ocampo, I live in Los Angeles, and
maybe some of you may remember me. I was diagnosed with pca in May
2003, PSA of 11at the age of 49. Fortunately I found this great group
of people who helped, and counseled me in that terrible time.I had my
prostate removed in July 1st 2003, my path report showed capsular
penetration with negative margines, clean seminal vesicle and nodes.
Gleason of 3+4 although some extensive areas of Gleason 5. Procedure
was non nerve-sparing. Doctor told me I had about 50% chance of cure,
I opted not to have radiation at that time.
I have been lurking the group during all these years and today I want
to say thank you again to all of you guys who are a beacon in the
middle of the storm for people like me. Last week I had my lab test
report of PSA <0.1 this is a clean bill after almost 4 years after
surgery. I remeber the first doctor I saw, he didn't give much hope.
But people in this group like Curtis , Steve, and many others educated
me and gave me streght. To the new people here, I would like to tell
them do not believe everything the doctors tell you. Getting informed
and educated is the best way of beat this ugly disease.

Glad to see you drop in again Fernando. And, PSA 1.0 after four years?
That's fantastic!
I hope you keep in touch with your further success stories.

A gentle correction to our estened statistician; that was <0.1, not
1.0.
Congrats, Fernando!

Ha!!! Good critique. I hope you will accept my apology for attributing to

Hello, Fernando:
That's great news about your low PSA after four years. I hope you
