Just back from evening worship, my Pastor pulled me aside.
He is on the list of guest speakers at a conference in Amsterdam at the
Church that has the biggest Organ outside the United States. It's a work of
art, SIX manuals and no less than 2900 + pipes! Unfortunately the reverb
time and pneumatics are not as clever, it takes almost 9/10ths of a second
to hear the note after pressing the key, which may put me off a bit. In my
own Kirk, it's more fast.
The chance to play this beastie has me all sixes and sevens - I'm liable for
a grant from the MacMillan fund to pay travel - but sh.t! - I was supposed
to be going to Portugal - I got the money back for that.
Anyway - Pastor asked did I want to travel with him? Whoooopee! Yes!
Ha-Haaaa! Better than sex! I want to make some REAL groanings to my Lord and
pay my unique homage and Love to my Creator. Just hope my legs are up to the
dancing on the pedals that Mozart requires. My goodness, I never was SO
excited - the chance to be at the console of this magnificent beast! To be
able to control sound and turn it into an act of ultimate trust and
worship... just hope I don't disgrace myself with a poor showing. I've
started making a play program already - bollox to the conference!  Ooo!
Holland here I come! Leaving Tuesday, back on Friday. Wheeeeee!
Mad as a Hatter now!
Shuggie.

Hugh,

It's good to hear you have an upper coming. There's nothing better
than experiencing your passion. Gods speed.

How wonderful, Hugh.
I'll be thinking of you this week and watching for your return so we can hear
more about it all.
Enjoy !
