In my quest for more info as to my RRP vs. Radiation decision, I spoke
with a very experienced radiation oncologist today who confirmed my
thoughts concerning my BPH issue. He likes to do both seeds & beam
radiation to make sure he kills possible cancer cells in the prostate
& seminal vesicles and to implant seeds into prostates no greater than
35-40 cc range. He's doubtful he could shrink my 72 cc whopper below
40 even with Lupron or another drug, so this adds the final bit of
weight toward my going for an RRP which was my instinctual choice from
the very beginning.  Mine is scheduled for a month away which gives my
wife & me most of 4 weeks to check off Joe Shaw's
Post-Prostatectomy-Peraphanellia list, and for me to read the rest of
the 1000s of great info posts - been reading back to 2003!
Thanks for being here!

====> hi Z - what i find interesting is how the answer sometimes pops up
from the facts as you gather them.

the more you research and investigate, the more a particular type of
treatment will lend itself as the correct way to go.

continue to do research until it's time to have the treatment.  this
way, you will be 100% convinced that you did the right thing.

all the best,

I hadn't heard that before.  But it makes sense, doesn't it.

Thanks for sharing it with us.
