Regarding the PSA, what are the measurement units? Nanograms per
milliliter (ng/mL) or nanomols (nm)? It is important to know this.
Is he in Europe?
What is his clinical history? Age, general health, Gleason score on
biopsy, clinical stage (sometimes called T-stage) -- for example T2c or T3b?
What is his treatment history? Surgery? Radiation (what type)? Other?
> he is now honvan and inj ZOLDERIA..
Honvan is fosfestrol tetrasodium, a synthetic oestrogen (female sex
hormone) that is used in the treatment of prostate cancer. It is not
used in the USA.
I cannot find a listing for "Zolderia." But, searching rxlist.com, I
find Zometa (zolderonic acid or zolendrodate), which is often prescribed
at a dosage of 4 mg monthly for bone metastases.
> 1..now oncocoligest prescribed ESTRACYT which is too-too costly for

Estracyt is known in the USA and Canada as Emcyt (estramustine). It is
used as a palliative treatment of prostate cancer. That means that it is
not intended to cure, but to relieve symptoms.

The manufacturer is Pfizer. They have a program for uninsured patients
who are unable to afford their products.
See, http://www.pfizer.com/pfizer/subsites/philanthropy/access/index.jsp
> 3..he feels pain in legs now and inj ZOLDERIA not works this month
I do not know the answer. I suggest asking his doctor.
> 4.. how much inj ZOLDERIA can a man take?we inject 21 inj till
> now,may we stop or scontinue with the same??

The usual dose is 4 mg given every 28 days over no less than 15 minutes.
"21" what? What is the measurement unit?
I am not a medical doctor, but I recommend that stopping Zolderia
(Zometa) not be done without advice of the doctor. I think that it would
be a mistake, but my medical advice is worthless.
A thorough review of Zometa can be found at
http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/zometa.htm
Good luck.

Steve......I ran a Whois search and this man is in or near New Delhi,
India. He has posted before. I was trying to remember his nationality,
but got a clue when he said he didn't want a "single rs"......rupees I
would assume.
Steve Kramer......do you remember this fellow?? And I take it that his
PSA went from 0.33 UP TO 4001 in 5 years. That rang a bell too.

I do remember him (her?). However the PSA history is sketchy. He was dx'ed
at 2,705 in 2002. I understood the PSA went to 4,000 in 2005, only three
years later.
Clearly, there is a language problem.

Steve,
That was a very useful and well researched posting you
provided. I admire your efforts to research the facts
before you write anything.
I have seen another posting made by zasu not to this
group. I've gotten the impression that his father's doctors
have done an excellent job, keeping him alive for some
years, but the poor man's time is running out.
zazu,
I am very sorry about your father's condition. I hope that
he can get strong pain medication to help him through the
time to come.
Best wishes to you and your father.

Alas, I think that says it all.... and succinctly.

Zazu's father was 59 when dx'd in 2002 with a 2,704 PSA. They performed an
orchectomy and "Tab Flutamide TDS". The PSA went down, but in 2005 back up
to 4000. Then they went with "Tab Ketcanasole" and the PSA went down to 64
in 9 months. Then, they added "Tab Honvan" and the PSA went down to 2.9. I
don't all the dates, but Zazu's most recent post said his PSA was back up to
187. That was a couple of months ago, as I recall.
They are in India.
