Hi, I am happy that life is treating your right. I am "much" younger
than you (71 1/2)  :-) and a widower. I travel far and wide, but do
not feel as good as you seem to feel.  Maybe it is just my depression,
age, singleness, or stupidity, but one thing I miss is sex. You did
not mention that and others who have commented on Lupron treatment
seemed to do the same. They seem to be content with no sex interest,
no libido. I am not. More than once I have said to myself and even
doctors that I would rather be dead than have a dead sex life.

A month ago, under protest, but semi-voluntary, I took Casodex for a
week and then a Lupron shot.  This is about 5 years after having my
very own prostrate cancer operation ("we got it all" said the surgeon/
urologist) and seeing my PSA go back up from 0 to 11 over the five
years. The problem is that my PSA testing score was starting to go up
a little more rapidly. A few years back, an oncologist told me not to
worry about a 3 or 4 PSA as it did not mean anything much without
physical evidence of more cancer. Despite three bone scans and three
CAT(?) scans with all the radioactive dyes and so forth, no cancer has
been found anywhere in my poor old body. The oncologist took a job
elsewhere so I had to rely on the urologist and finally agreed to
accept Lupron, although I hate it because it makes me depressed and
uninterested in almost everything, including sex.

However, I do have some "interest" in sex. I would say it is mostly in
my brain, not penis, but I am wondering if I should try appropriate
remedies for the ED I have now and have had for years.  I am single
and do have the opportunity for sex, if I can (1) get beyond the
psychological problems associated with using a pump or TRIMIX shot and
(2) and these things will not only give me an erection, but I will
have enough libido to have a good time with a non-regular partner like
a girl friend or wife, of which I have neither.  I would like to know
I can perform before getting either.

Right now I am relying on "mind over matter" to keep my brain
interested in sex, but don't know how long that will work.  Can I
assume that it won't work for long and pretty soon sex will really be
a distant memory. Maybe I will not even remember to remember that I
can't remember sex?

This post is probably disjointed, just like me, but I do respect
opinions of most (spammers/scammers excluded) on the better USENET/
