Emerging Meds -- Good Site for Clinical Trials

Hello Everybody,

I have just been browsing new PC websites.  I was on NCCN, which is an
association of 19 top cancer centers.  It is a great source of
information, some of which I will post in another msg.

I am telling you about the website emergingmeds.com, because it it is
recommended by NCCN, so I would think it's reputable. Emergingmeds.com
helps match patients with clinical trials, and   I just tried it out
and was impressed.  It was easy to register.  Then I filled out an
extremely detailed online questionnaire about my husband and his PC
and I got very specific results immediately.  Instant gratification!

This is a big help because you don't have to guess which trials may be
right for you.  They tell you.

**There were 445 trials listed for PC.  Many of them are being run by
private companies, but the experts predict that the new breakthrough
drugs will come not from big pharma, but from small biotech start-ups.

The site lists trials by type of disease and also there are many that
deal with side effects of the ca.

Hope this helps someone.

Leah

Anyway, this is from their website:

Leah, can you post a link? I tried to go to that site but could not
find it. Nor did I find link or reference to it on NCCN.

So sorry.  It is emergingmed.com.  Just tried it and it's OK.  Or you
can call 877-601-8601.

Here is the page I linked from: (NCCN: Ca Resource Links: Clinical
Trials.)

Good luck.

Thanks, Leah. That trial matching function is definitely more specific
than others I have used. I give up wading through dozens of trials for
hormone-refractory PCa to find the handful that apply to me, so this
is a better mousetrap.
