Hi Guys.
At SOME point in the next few weeks - month or two, etc, I'm going to have
to ask for someone to help edit my "Thing" about foods that might be helpful
in Prostate Cancer.
The FOOD and recipes will probably require no editing.
What WILL require help, is my own knowledge of what I KNOW - as opposed to
what I THINK I know.
The section regarding "What Prostate Cancer is" WILL need corrections
The section regarding "Angiogenesis - a Layman's understanding" WILL need
corrections.
Other Sections - Foods to Avoids and Why; Foods to Include and Why; can all
be freely commented on for editing.
I'm aiming this at "Newbies" - so it will be necessarily FREE of 'jargon'
and too many references.
It's meant to be EASILY understood. (By everyone)
The recipe section - Hopefully there will be LOADS of feedback.
After a LOT of editing, I'm at page seven on an A4 document.
I'm using MS Office - Word 2000 and Excel 2000.
Anyone interested? - let me know.
Thanks.
Hugh.

I'm sure several will be . . . and that no two would agree on your
facts, opinions, contents, advice, and/or phrasing. One approach might
be to post your basic facts and opinions here in brief draft, stand
back, let us play like a pack of Rottweiler puppies with them, pick up
the pieces of your document and your ego, make the concessions you
choose to, beef up your facts with prose, and publish your Thing. If
it's *still* wrong about something, believe me, you'll hear about it.
Basically, your approach is sound: "foods that *might* be helpful with
PC". There's been so little sound testing done that most of it is
speculation, so I feel an important section should be on the philosophy
of balancing the time and dietary concessions it requires with its
debatable benefits. We've seen both extremes discussed or even present
here, including a fatalist who has conceded his life to PC and a man who
spends much, maybe most, of his day with a microscale in one hand and
a blender in the other, facing a clock and the wall-full of protocols he
lives by in a desperate attempt to keep his heart beating even though it
*IS* just so he can stand there with a microscale in one hand and a
blender in the other . . .
Then, after that chapter, you may want to divine some practical, optimal
middle ground for folks willing to devote an hour a day to this.
But after years of researching, I strongly suspect that most men will
enhance their lifespans and their *quality* of life the most by simply
eating less crap and more healthier foods and exercising more, than by
spending much time worrying about special PC foods. A middle-aged guy
with a pot belly, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, and/or CVD markers;
who can't walk a couple of miles in 25 minutes while discussing
politics; who eats more meat'n'potatoes than vegetables and fruit and
whole grains; and/or just averages less than 6 hours of solid daily
sleep has far greater health concerns than lycopene and cinnamon.

OK - I.P. - on reflection, it probably is BEST that the whole group gets to
see it all and to correct/include/suggest.
Good thing you brought that up.
Thanks.
Hughie.

Hugh,
I'm a fair proof reader (despite my errant typing of late). There are some
experts here that can better help as technical consultants, some of who that
can tell you when, how, why, and how much.

Hugh, I really like I.P.s idea of putting forth what you have for one
and all to look at, tear into, comment on, and so forth. It is a neat
idea, a joint venture. You might have your hands full deciding what
contributions are valid, and what to discard. It would be nice to
eventually have a finished product which was organized, factual,
differentiates between what is Known and what is merely suspected, and
is not too wordy. I believe that accuracy would be of primary
importance. Credits could be listed on a separate page for any wanting
to verify anything for themselves.
Good luck, I hope this works.
