Talaria Inc. - 31 Jan 2007 22:21 GMT
We are seeking cancer patients and survivors for a research study to
test an online tutorial that teaches how to cope more effectively with
treatment for cancer.  The tutorial teaches information and skills
(such as relaxation and communication) that might be helpful during
the treatment process.  Your participation may help others who undergo
treatment for cancer in the future.

You can earn up to $50 by testing the tutorial and filling out a few
questionnaires.  This is an online study, which means you can
participate anywhere and on your own time. You will have a login and
password, which will allow you to log in and log out as much as you
need to. The review and questionnaire will take approximately 2-2½
hours.

If interested, visit the study website at http://elearning.talariainc.com/cancercope/
using Internet Explorer and follow the prompts.

Please contact our research assistant at (206) 679-2022 or
study@talariainc.com if you have questions.  (Please note that we
cannot guarantee the confidentiality of any information sent via e-
mail.)

Talaria, Inc. is a small healthcare and technology company located in
Seattle, WA.  This project is funded by a grant from the National
Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute.

We were having some technical difficulties.  Everything should work
now.  I apologize for this.  You may try again now:

No, there are still some technical difficulties.  Your messages are still
showing up in our newsgroup.

Is there something about this you know that we don't, Steve? This is
legit, and may benefit cancer pts who ultimately use the cancer
education system they are testing on 64 selected pts. The system they're
developing appears to include exercises designed to help pts cope with
their diagnosis and treatment, both of which may help many people we've
seen here. They take several specific steps to assure testers' emotional
well-being during the test, which seems to include the emotional/
psychological aspects of cancer. It is funded by the NIH/NCI, which IMO
lends credibility. I have participated in other such research in the
past and felt I was providing a valid service, but haven't gotten past
this one's 2-2.5 hours time estimate yet.

No, not specifically on this one.  I don't usually let it go that far.

Not just that.  Some of us could use the 50 bucks.  I gave it to my
husband and he seems interested.
